It is time. Probably past time to find another serious QB candidate. IMO the next good/great leader of the Cowboy offense is a priority. Perhaps not in the first round of the draft but if Kyle McCord is there in the second or third round someone like that would be a smart and much needed selection. Then there is FA and it would be wise to take a serious look at the best available guys in that pool. A quality backup from another team would be a nice addition. Then another possibility is a trade for a guy with ability or at least serious potential.

It would be refreshing to have someone who could seriously contend with Dak Prescott on the roster. Serious competition might even improve Prescott. He has never had that. He always been head and shoulders better than the other QBs on the roster.

That’s not how Jerry does it, he doesn’t bring in any QB that might be better because he protects Daks sensitive feelings. Been that way since Dak took over. To many holes to fill, the 60 million dollar man has to play elite football now and that’s not happening with him looking over his shoulder

There is no one you can bring in to contend with daks price tag. You simply can not pay Dak his current contract then also pay for better talent. They can't afford to keep osa much less a better QB. Their only hope is to pay/draft a RB probably both so they take the pressure off the passing game.

Burning high draft capital on a QB this year makes no sense. We are stuck with Dak and drafting someone to hold a clipboard when we have so many immediate needs sounds wonky. I agree there needs to be some competition for Dak. On the other hand, why does the highest paid player in the history of the Nation Football League need pushed like that?

No way should Dallas draft a QB this year. Dak is too expensive and that rookie deal would disappear quickly under the weight of Dak's expensive contract. Also, it seems the coaching staff and Dak are all set to get the boot together, assuming the coaching staff doesn't win a Super Bowl, so it makes more sense for the next regime to draft and develop its own QB.

Jerry is all in again, this time with a pair of 4s. Maybe he'll get two 4s on the flop.

Is there a position on this team that could not use an upgrade? There are players worth keeping but every position group on offense needs improvement and I think, given the injuries, the same it true on defense.

This is why I am insisting that this is a multi-year problem. At this point, there are no quick fixes.

Well whomever it is they can't be too good, because if they are that would cause a QB controversy and that's what they DON"T want!! I agree it is time to upgrade get some different QB's in here, the Rush and Lance time is over.

Do you think he's going to play every game this season?

I doubt if it happens. Rush will get signed. Lance will be let go and perhaps a token QB in round 6 or 7.

there are so many needs in this room and Jerry thinks, we are close and it was because of injuries we went 7-10. so he will draft Jeanty if he drops. I mean can you imagine how many jerseys he will sell (cha ching). he will draft LB, DT, and saftey. and regret having traded his 4th round pick for a waste of a WR.

Not really possible nor do such QBs exist. You are basically talking about drafting a Malik Willis. or Hendon Hooker or Desmond Ritter or Will Levis or Matt Coral or Kyle Trask or Kellen Mond or Davis Mills. If you think I am being random those are the 8 2nd or 3rd QBs taken in the past 4 years. Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the pick.

QB position is the most important roster spot on a team most of the time. In his earlier years Landry was a master of bringing in QB talent. He had Meredith. But he drafted Morton and Jerry Rhome and Roger Staubach. Landry understood.

Those of you who want out of Prescott's contract should know that if the team had a decent QB2 the team could bench Dak. Once a long time starter has to carry the clipboard during the games they seem to retire rather quickly. (see Meredith and Romo)

Jimmy Johnson himself recently stated in an interview that the most important spot on a roster is the QB. He also said the second most important spot is the QB2

Because of his high price tag, it wouldn’t be smart to take a qb high in this draft. The next two though should absolutely address a qb high and I’m talking the first two rounds. None of this 4th round crap.

IMO the front office believes Dak is still the guy.

All for a day 3 pick going to a developmental QB. Odds are they won't pan out, but see if a guy with traits falls to the 5th or 6th round

Not gonna happen. If anything, we are likely to downgrade from Cooper Rush.

Agree.......Dak's here for a min 2 more seasons, maybe 3 if not traded. Let's resign Lance for a couple of years and 2027 draft Dak's possible replacement.
