A-ROID files objection to Rangers' plan

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez filed an objection to the Rangers' bankruptcy plan on Wednesday over concerns about the $24.9 million he's owed in deferred money for his time with the Rangers, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

Rodriguez, listed as a creditor in the plan, filed the objection "out of an abundance of caution due to potential uncertainties in the plan," his lawyer, Joe Wielebinski wrote in a motion filed Wednesday.

Rodriguez isn't the only Major Leaguer who is owed deferred money and thus listed as a creditor. Current Rangers third baseman Michael Young ($4 million), Kevin Millwood ($12.9 million), Vicente Padilla ($1.7 million), Mickey Tettleton ($1.4 million) and Mark McLemore ($970,051.97) are all listed as creditors in the bankruptcy plan.

The Rangers filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May and the auction of the Rangers is currently scheduled to proceed on Aug. 4.

Seems like the correct thing to do. I am sure anyone would do the same if they were in his shoes.

Whats crazy is neither Mickey Tettleton or Mark McLemore have played for the Rangers in a freaking decade, yet the Rangers still owe both damn near a million bucks!

Tom Hicks is a finance management nightmare. Good riddance when he is finally gone.

Baseball is crazy that way.

Let me just get this straight. The Rangers traded Alex, but still owe him close to 25 million dollars. They devised a bankruptcy plan that would cost Alex money that he is lawfully owed, and you think there's something wrong about that?

Are you really that dense?

I can't stand the guy. But any of us would do the same thing.

Nope, but apparently you are for such a lame-*** response.
Trust me, were it not for a mod's intervention I would have used stronger words.

You keep on hating, we'll keep on winning.

Who are you talking to? No one before you said anything about A-Rod doing anything wrong.

Yup that shows the stupidity of Ranger baseball...they were paying A-Rod to beat them up in the after years! lol don't hate he was clutch as hell in the playoffs!

I don't hate him like some people do. I don't like him cause he's a Yankee, and I don't like the Yankees, but I can't say I blame him for not wanting them to find a way out of paying him money that they owe him and have owed him for a while now.

I like the Rangers. They're my favorite team (Officially now since I went to my first pro baseball game last sunday and watched them beat the Angels. Had an absolute blast being there as well.) but they should have had people running their money that actually knew what the heck he was doing.
