A Wade Prediction

The NY Giants fans are really down on their defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan and want him fired yesterday. He has been a tremendous downgrade from what they were use to with Steve Spagnuolo.

Prediction:

Giants will fire Sheridan, Jerry will fire Wade, Giants will hire Wade as Defensive Coordinator to bring the 3-4 defense back to the Giants.

...could happen.

I've thought about that, too... Or even in Washington, depending on how their coaching situation shakes out.

Or, better for us, probably... Sounds like Houston is ready to get rid of Kubiak. If they have a coaching overhaul, he could be down there close to his dad and mom.

NYG seems to have a really excellent mix of 4-3 DL players, doubt they would overhaul that part of the D -

has anyone ever seen the interactions between coughlin and phillips?

I would bet big money on NY not being interested in Phillips.

I dont think wade likes that parcells clique and I dont think they like him.

Now washington is a different story, they could end up with wade and shanahan. that would be fun.

That would suck. Like I have said before, Wade is a awfull head coach, but a good DC. That sounds about right though. He would come back to haunt us as a DC.:banghead:

That's the problem with this team; we HAVE no head coach. The players don't know who to look to for leadership. Yes, Wade has the "title" of head coach but everybody knows how soft he is. I think everyone would agree that Garrett gets more criticized than Wade, which would imply Garrett is more of a head coach figure than Wade. The players are just confused.

As strange as it may sound Wade may get an offer/interview from another team.Depending on what names are available, the pool of candidates could be pretty shallow. It is a long shot but another team may look at his regular season numbers and decide that he might be a better option than what is available.Mangini got canned in New York and wound up in Cleveland.Technically Wade's contract is up at seasons end here,it's not like he's getting fired.

I'm going to respectfully disagree and say that Wade will never be a HC in the NFL ever again.

I'm just saying the possibility exists.Someone like Al Davis can do stranger things than Jerry at times.I didn't think Mangini would be a head coach this year, but he is.It is doubtful that Wade will ever get another shot, but the possibilty does exist.

Yes. This is Wade's last job as a head coach. You would be out of your mind to hire him as a head coach.

I think Wade will retire at season's end rather than be fired or simply drummed out. I think that is why he was given one more year. I have no evidence of this mind you.

What other option is there when no one wants you?

Some teams might look at him, as a defensive coordinator.

Well if that's the case we'll be able to convert MANY third and loooooonnnngggg!

Wade is a pretty good DC. But the defense is failing on this team too much for me. It's not a big fail. It's a pretty small one. And I admit it might not be coaching that's the problem although I don't like Campo's DB gig at all. The defense may be a safety and another CB away from being special. But the whole thing is too inconsistent all around.

I can see Wade being the DC somewhere else.

I think many will be very disappointed when this season ends. This is exactly what will happen. No big Donald Trump "YOU"RE FIRED!!" speech or anything like that. Just a gracefull exit from the game and a new search for a new HC. Jerry has to much class and learned from the Landry situation.

I like Wade Phillips, and unless we improve our DL and OL and find an impact FS, no coach is going to take what we have and do much more than he has.

However, if firing Wade could in any way move us away from the 3-4 and get us back to the 4-3 defense, I'd be more than thrilled.

I'd love to see Ratliff and Bowen at DT in the 4 man line.
