AAF suspending operations

Tough to be a developmental league when you can't use young NFL back ups.

The Alliance of American Football is suspending operations Tuesday, a source told ESPN's Michael Rothstein, confirming multiple reports. The league will hold a call with all players and staff at 1 p.m. ET Tuesday afternoon, the source said.

Tom Dundon, who became the AAF's majority owner in February, had said last week that the league was in danger of folding without help from the National Football League Players Association.

These leagues have no chance. XFL won't do much better either

Seems like the league didn't stockpile enough money before the launch and just used a pay-as-we-go mentality?

Not sure how to post a tweet or tweet link, but I heard a radio interview earlier today with the now former San Diego Fleet president Jeff Garner, the league took the money Dundon offered because there original investors bailed and said that Dundon is in control of all the assets of the AAF, and that is was pretty much a hostile takeover by by him. Garner said that the league made the mistake of taking money from the wrong person when they needed it, and it is a very sad thing that the league collapsed due to what sounds like greed, he took what could of been really great and destroyed it.
