I only go to WVU football games to watch football, but I always make sure to get in the stadium in time and look forward to hearing the PA announcer say, "And now, let's bring on the Pride of West Virginia, the Mountaineer Marching Band!"
They run out of the tunnels and out on the field and the stadium goes wild.
They form the state of West Virginia (which ain't easy) and march up and down the field while playing the fight song. They will flip flop the state so each side can see it.
They really get the place reved up!
When they play the Star Spangled Banner, I think how fortunate we all are in this country to be able to enjoy something as frivilous as college football.
What a day that always is at Mountaineer Field.
