I think it would be cool to have some threads talking about actors or actresses and their best roles.

First candidate is Arnold Schwarzenegger. What's your favorite character he played?


I gotta go out of the box and say Detective John Kimble from Kindergarten Cop. I know Terminator I will get a lot of votes and rightly so. I just like the role h had in that movie best.

Kind of liked him in Conan. It was early in his career and the role fit him...plus you have James Earl Jones playing Thulsa Doom.

Terminator - Not much in the lines of speaking, but one of his few lines carried on though his career. Plus, he fit the role of robotic Bad-A quite well.

Total Recall. I still manage to get in 2 or 3 viewings a year. And it's still a total mind**** of a movie.

He has played in some entertaining movies, but good actor isn't how I would describe Arnold.

I never saw Total Recall, but The Terminator series was probably the best movies he made. Predator was entertaining too and generally a really good movie, but Terminator is iconic

I'd have to go Terminator as well. Best movies and certainly most iconic. Predator is arguable, in context, especially with Jesse Ventura and Carl Weathers also on board to pump up the testosterone. Arnie looks great in Conan, but it had too much Milius accretion to it (and I like Milius). If you read the Conan books, he's not some muscle bound lunkhead. Conan's a panther, not a lion.

What surprised me most about Schwarzenegger was how good his comedic timing was. He's a great straight man. Who knew?

Did anyone besides me think the dialogue in Commando was really bad?

I love the movie, but roll my eyes at some of the lines.
