Dolphins and Lions are among best yards per tote and total yards rushing teams in the league. This is a great test to see if the Cowboys fixed the issues we saw in the Buffalo game.

What makes the next two matchups most intriguing is the Cowboys will have to defend the entire field against both teams.

I agree....

We are playing a decent opponent on the road. Their best player might not play, and if he does will be probably on a snap count. This all bodes well for us if we protect the ball and our coaches call a good game.

I think the Lions game should be a fairly good game, but I don't see Dallas losing at home to them.

Without Hankins the Cowboys are undersized up front in the middle in addition to being undersized at LB. The only way to combat that is to get penetration up front and run and for the backers to run and hit and make the damn tackle, which they failed to do against Buffalo. Mostert and Achane are two of the 5 fastest backs in the league so we simply cannot afford to let them get to the second level unharrassed cause aint nobody catchin either one of them once they get a step. The d-line needs to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage these next two weeks. With the injuries on Miami's o-line I am actually more encouraged that we will see a rebound against them. I have not studied Detroit yet.. I never look that far ahead.

I suspect the Cowboys will be highly reactive to stopping the run in Miami which could lead to a big dose of early down play action.

Disguising coverages and mixing in more zone may help prevent a big play down field.

Big picture, their ceiling is 2nd seed, floor is 5th seed. Either way, I believe a win during Wild Card weekend will send them to San Francisco in the Divisional Rd or the NFCCG 2 weeks in. It's up to them to ramp up the intensity to match SF's in that game. Otherwise, same results as the last 3 times they played them. These next 2 weeks serve as a warmup to that style of play. Get out there and start smashing people. Period.

.im no Defense guru, in the least. But a common practical application.

Is exactly what you mention. Plug those holes, quickly. You gotta gamble here n there.

It comes with territory. Buff Lb's were play a yard maybe two off the LOS.

Dallas was going 4, and still dropping the LB's. Did not make sense since your 4 was not getting it done.

I disagree. We will know everything as soon as the Cowboys play on the road in the playoffs.

Don’t get your hopes up for this week. No Hankins, likely no Martin or Smith either.
