A stuffed wolverine and red-tailed hawk have been removed from a bar in California’s El Dorado County, some 50 years after the animals were first put on display, an employee told FoxNews.com.

An official from the California Department of Fish and Game, after receiving a tip, removed the animals on Tuesday from the Georgetown Hotel and Saloon in Georgetown, bartender Anthony Fox said.

“They had been in a week before on a report that the two roosters on the wall were turkey vultures or California condors,” Fox said. “Then he noticed the wolverine.”

The establishment, which opened in 1896, had both animals on display for several decades, Fox said, adding that the stuffed wolverine has adorned the bar’s wall for half a century.

Where has common sense gone? I can understand protecting endangered animals but these were killed over 50 years ago. Come on Man

I think you mean good sense, because foolishness has become very common.
I can't even comment on the article because there are some instances of foolishness that just leave you speechless.

What exactly are the Fish and Game people going to do with them? It's the government so of course it's not supposed to make sense. California is billions in the hole, yet can they can find the revenue to finance this type of crap? :bang2:

This is the same state that cut off water to farmers and allowed fires to rage uncontrolled because of a damn fish. Bunch of nut jobs. I am so glad I don't live there anymore.

California has more stupid laws than they can enforce. You're right. This is pathetic, but not surprising.
