Note to self: when stealing an airplane, make sure you can fly and land the plane. This first time I've ever heard of a plane from a airline being stolen. I'm sure its happened...

This is a good point. I'm guessing that one of the pilots described the process to him in a seemingly innocent conversation. I doubt that there is a YouTube video on that and I'm betting that it's not intuitive. That or maybe he got his hands on a manual and did a little reading in his spare time.
