Give it up for Coach Harris! Not to take anything away from the players, but Bland, just another CB having a record turnover year under Coach Harris.

Not just molding young CBs either, many Safeties having a career year under Coach Harris.

Today in the broadcast, Olson talked about how he’s like a veteran player, they may tune out Coach Q, but they always listen to Al.

You can see it on the sidelines too, and not just Defense, he is involved with the offensive players too. He is always the most involved in those Sounds of Sidelines clips.

I don’t think our defense would have as much success without this guy, so I want to give him some huge props! Enjoy him now before he Is promoted.

Getting this much production from guys like Diggs and Bland is no accident.

I thought Al Harris dealt exclusively as the CB coach,.. while Joe Witt Jr. is assigned the safeties and the overall
secondary coach ??

Could be, see him more with CBs. Sorry if giving him credit for last year's safety production is too much. LOL Regardless, great coach to have on the team. Wish we had more like him. Fills that void that certain veterans provide for leadership and experience at the same time as a Coach.

Yes! I've saying for quite a while he needs assistant DC or some kind of fancy title and big pay. It would be a terrible mistake to let him leave. Best DB coach they have had in a long time.
If Q were to take another coaching job, sure Jerry would have to bump up some pay and title to keep him from leaving.

That whole staff is in danger starting next year. Been together for a while now and and always put up a great NFL defense.

I don't see Q's name in as many head coach talks now, but if Cowboys keep winning like this again with the dominance, you can bet he'll show up again.

Something else maybe I should have mentioned about him. In his playing days, I always assumed he was an early draft pick. He was such a name for so long, I just assumed he was pedigree from the start, but he was barely drafted, going in the 6th round. On top of it, dude plays until his late 30's. Smart, smart player. I'm glad he is a Coach for us.

Also... as a Coach, I notice they are always showing clips of him following up, good or bad, on the play. Talking to the players on why it didn't work, or confirming why it worked. On those Sounds of Sidelines bits. That's a sign of a good coach, boss, etc... Some can only dwell on the bad plays too.

I've said before if Quinn ever leaves we need to see what Al's coaching ambitions are. The players have obviously bought in to what he is selling.
Something I wonder about Harris is if he actually wants more responsibility. When you are a DC, you work alot of late nights. A dude that made 8 figures in NFL may not have that ambition. He might just want want to work with young players. As far as CB's go, he is the best in the NFL at what he does

Harris is actually under the DB coach Whitt. Harris exclusively coaches CB's

If Q leaves Coach Harris should get DC consideration. He’s a fantastic up and coming coach. He was an incredible player and these guys respond well to him and his coaching.

Update on this:

Hanging With the Boys Cowboys podcast was talking about the picks this year and Holly gave a shout out to Al Harris.

Nate Newton shared a conversation with Coach Harris about his future.

Coach Harris told Nate you don't always have to go through process of DB to DEF COORD to COACH.

He told Nate his asset is connecting to players. You not only have to teach scheme but you can't be afraid to tell a player 'you could have made that.'

Players want to make those plays with the big money. (Nate said big reason why CeeDee was disgruntled)

Coach Al tells Nate if he can keep getting blessed with young talent, he feels his name will come up in coaching circles.
