2 of my favorites who have been projected by the others to still be around are the 9th and 10th ranked by NFL.com. Jalin Hyatt and Drew Sanders. I would love if we landed one or both of these guys somehow as I think they are ID changers, not just game changers. I really think that both would have an enormous impact on each side of the ball. Hyatt would really open this offense up and not allow teams to bring a safety or two down and clog things up underneath and in the running game. Sanders paired with Parsons could be a crazy combo of offenses trying to figure out how to stop both if Quinn moved them around constantly and utilized their blitzing ability.

At any rate I just get a little annoyed when people keep saying Hyatt is a 3rd tier or top 60 guy and pretty much same with Sanders, I think people need to take a good look at this list.

They also have Josh Downs higher than most, Gibbs lower than many others, and Nolan Smith Quite a b it lower than most. It will be fun to see what the teams think in 12 days.

??? Zierlein's one of the most frequently referred to expert. His board is released early, so you need to cross reference with his mocks.

What is interesting in his ratings are that he does factor in a differential between development expectations in later rounds.

Lance also has Ika over Nolan Smith as a prospect…which is laughable.

I read his reports like all of us do but his list is faaaaaaaar from the best.

Why? Another Georgia LBer who gets glorified unblocked sacks like last seasons first round pick? How did he (Walker) perform last year?

NFL.com rankings are garbage. I love Drew Sanders. But there isn’t 1 reputable scout who has uttered the words that he is a top 10 prospect.

However, last year he was higher on Tyler and Cine (our only other 1st Rd Grade at pick time) than most other experts:
Mocked Tyler as high as 27 when concensus was 46.
Mocked Cine at 20 when concensus was in the 40's.
Maybe, far from the best, but more attuned with McClay's methodology in prospect assessment.

Because Smith is way, way better of a prospect than Ika…and the entire draft community agrees.

Walker is a different kind of player so not sure how that is relevant at all.

Sure, but the consensus rankings had Tyler in the 40s as a 2nd rounder and that’s about how he played last year.

But The Athletic's recent redraft had Tyler going at no.6, hardly a 2nd Rd Grade.
Sometimes you draft (or at least give heavy weighting) the player and his traits, not just the position.
It's like Walker going 1st overall, but a lot of that is based on developmental projection.

Yea, that’s absolutely insane to me…but to each their own.

Highly doubt that’d be the viewpoint agreed upon by everyone.

Both players came from same outstanding program/defense and both have a lot of unblocked plays which doesn't happen a lot in the pros hence the 3.5 sacks in 17 games for Walker.

Obviously it's a combo of ranking and POSITION. Nobody said BJ is a top 3 pick but he is exactly a top 3 rated player. Come on, did I really need to tell you that? Some of you people really scare me. You really think Richardson is a top 10 player? NO, he's a QB who will be vastly overrated by everyone. He's not even a top 100 player in this draft and he will be a bust but because he plays the premier positon he will be over valued and over drafted.

Teams could care less about these consensus draft boards. Every team will have several surprises that don’t jive with what we’ve seen from most. Smith and Cine were the 2 highest players left on THEIR board. They took their LT of the future.

OK, and I haven’t referenced Walker once…so not sure why you’re still talking about him seeing as he’s a completely different player than Smith.

The rankings make no sense. Show me any scout that thinks Sanders is the 9th player in this draft ? Or that Josh Downs is the16th rated player ? Paris Johnson a franchise LT at 30 ?

Absolutely. Right or wrong there will be teams who vary greatly from the media driven projections.

Few of these draft analysts are real scouts and talent evaluators.

The teams rely on their own people that they pay to do the job.

NFL.com doesn't have any better analysts than any of the other networks and sites.
