I like the pic! Really, though, it can't be that hard to compete with the i-pad. I mean, yeah, they're cool. But the fact other companies can't provide some competition is laughable. What has the world come to? LOL

I think if Kevin Spacey was high on meth, that's what he'd look like.

:lmao:

That must be it. I just didn't know why I found it funny, until now.

I can tell you why. There is sort of a lot of desperation and hope involved with the i-pad. People desperately want to compete with them..those that don't like apple. Others in disparity can't afford Apple's overpriced products.

The picture juxtaposes this guy holding up an i-pad competitor like something sacred... then he has that half look of excitement, but the twitch in his eye, denoting his own skepticism, signals obvious desperation and disparity. Together, those two elements coupled with other historic photographs probably in your subconscious mind might be something that makes this one seem quite funny.

Just by virtue of the fact that people hate products based on the companies that make them guarantees some measure of competition.

I haven't found a use for one, no matter who makes it, but they are selling.

I like Josh's reasoning better. If the guy were holding a box of Kleenex, it'd still be a funny pic.

$200 7" tablet and a huge signing w/ Fox, only says that this lil device is all about Media and the Amazon Adroid market and e-books.

Free cloud storage? Awesome!!

200.00$

This is going to be huge for Amazon. I like the touch Kindle's too.

This new tablet is dual core also.

Good stuff. More competition for Apple.

I haven't either. I still remember my laptop is portable. Maybe I'll get a tablet soon. But I'm waiting for some deals on something I really like. I'm not a guy quick to get something because it's cool. Heck, I think the I-pad and this Kindle thing are both cool in their own right.

Yeah, I was being funny or trying to be overly analytical.

In regards to the actual product, I like the price point, but it'll have to wait and see if it can compete on the same level as the ipad. I think it's a mistake to get people to look at it like a kindle e-reader that can also surf the web and run android apps and what not, because most people who use a kindle choose it over say the nook color because we want the e-ink and the screen that looks like paper. I know I'd never read a book on a backlit LCD.
