Where were you when the world stopped turnin'
that November night?
Out at a strip club with your wife and children;
Or drinking in some bar in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of McNabb’
bad toss falling toward Williams below?
Did you shout out in anger and go beat your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the players
that lost their dear playoff’s?
Did you curse because now you won’t go?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked out early
and sob for the ones left inside?
Did you burst out in pride for the Silver and Blue
And the heroes who won just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer?
And hear in return only Tom Landrys laughter?

(Chorus)
I'm just a fan of a hated team.
I'm not a real man much at all.
I watch ESPN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in thugs and our fans.
But I know TO and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Hate, snowballs and battery’s are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is hate.

Where were you when the world stopped turning
That November night?
Cussing in front of some innocent children;
Driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty 'cause you watched survivor
in a crowded brothel did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother and curse her for having been born?
Did you dust off that bottle at home?

Did you open your eyes hope it never happened;
And close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the time clock the first time in ages;
Or puke on some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of McNabbs address;
Go out and buy you another bigger gun?
Did you turn off that scary old post game you're watchin'
And turn on "I Love TO reruns?

Did you go burn down a church or have sex with some strangers?
Stand in line to see the same judge?
Did you just stay home and curse your family
Thank God you had somebody to blame?

(Chorus)
