Was thinking of flashing this.

But, I know I'm going to custom ROM route so will wait until some developer includes this in his build.

I'm not having an problems with my phone, but it wouldn't hurt to get the updated radios.

There are several updates/fixes that I didn't know needed fixing! :laugh2:

These are the ones I guess I'm looking forward too.

Redvolution hated the slow auto-rotate and I've got to say it bugged me quite a bit too. I'm glad they are fixing it. (a setting on how long to wait would be awesome!) The boost in volume is a good deal too. I hate the alarm sound I use now, but it's the only one I know that plays loud enough to wake me even if I've stayed up way to late.

I thought the stock browser was decent. Then downloaded ICS Browser+. The quick control feature and full screen mode made it even better. But, Chrome just came out. That is my go to browser. Great port to Android. Smooth and fast. Also, love the fact that it syncs with all my browsers across my devices. Only thing I don't like is the fact it doesn't have the quick controls. Hopefully someone adds it soon - it can't be that hard to do.

I don't have 4G in my area yet. But, when I go into a 4G area I notice that the 3G/4G threshold is wonky. We're getting 4G down here soon.

The volume on my phone is loud. Quite loud actually so I'm wondering if this problem affected a certain batch of phones. Apparently it's SW problem since they are putting out a fix. The speaker is pretty awful though. When I do turn it up there's a bunch of distortion.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this phone. Haven't had one problem. Bought a couple of extra batteries in case I needed them and haven't really had to use one. I can go a full day - sometimes a day and a half - off of one charge. I'm not a poweruser, but I use my phone a lot.

I will have to try the Chrome browser in ICS, but I've been using the xScope browser since almost day one of using Android. It was way better than any of the others that I tried.

I don't actually keep any bookmarks in Chrome. Most of those I have in FF. Chrome is my general surfing browser. I do all my work in FF.

Dolphin Browser FTW! :)

Tried Dolphin wasn't a fan of it.

The ability to sync all my browsers across my laptops/desktops/mobile is the clincher for me.

Bookmarks that I set at work are there on my desktop when I get home. Or, on my mobile while I'm on the road.

There's a hiccup on mine, using the default browser. On youtube, after using the voice search mode, the video will display on the screen with a play icon, with other options for other videos related to the search underneath it. If you click the play icon, maybe one in 20 tries it'll kick back to the main desktop screen. If you then click the browser icon, it'll queue the video back up and play it. It doesn't happen if you type in the search query, only with the voice search option.

Haven't had it happen using Chrome.

Just a minor thing. I prefer Chrome so it's a non-issue really.

I kick myself for every day I stayed with the Crackberry. A complete and utter piece of junk compared to the Galaxy Nexus.

I couldn't get Verizon to commit to switching me back to my unlimited data plan by going through Best Buy, so I paid a little (lot) more to buy it through a local Verizon store. I did manage to get them to kick in a car charger and snap holster case though. The lady in front of me was completely out of her mind. Poor guy behind the counter was ready to have a coniption fit when she finally left. She had dropped her phone, cracked the screen, had no insurance, didn't want to use her upgrade for a new phone, and wanted a better one than she had already.

Yeah, figure that one out.

I come up to the counter. "Rough day there chief?"

He laughs. "Only an hour to go"

"Tell you what i'll be real easy. Like drunk stripper easy."

He laughed, I got my charger.

That's what I'm keeping my Blackberry for, a back-up alarm clock. "Trumpet Voluntary" for the first alarm, "Monday Night Football" for the second one 12 minutes later.

If you two want an extremely geeked out app, check out Tasker. (Tasker Website or Tasker Android Home Page).

  • Don't like leaving GPS on due to battery usage? Fine, tell Tasker anytime Google Maps start, to enable GPS automatically.
  • Use your location to enable services. (like enabling WiFi while at work or home, and disabling it when you leave)
  • Want your alarm clock to be Pandora or some random song? Tell Tasker to start Pandora / or play a random song at 6am M-F.
  • Make gestures with your phone to enable settings / launch apps.
  • Automate backups, or auto sync with Dropbox or some other site / service.

It's damn near endless what this app can do. You can get it from their website or the App store. (links above)

So, you were able to get your unlimited data plan back?

If not, Verizon just released the double data deal again.

I didn't know about it when I first got my phone, but I called Verizon, sweet talked the customer rep (love when I get female reps) and they let me get the double data deal.

10 GB's for $50 a month.

I never come close to that, but on the rare occasion my cable modem goes out I hotspot my phone so the wife and I can stay connected to the web.

Yep they gave it back. Burned through 670mb in one day, which is probably low since i was just learning how to use it. When the more exciting parts of the offseason get here i'll be burning through data as fast as my battery will allow.

Amazing how much faster i can type on this phone compared to the physical keyboard of the blackberry.

Decided to go the custom rom route.

Been running GummyNex for the past week. Very smooth and seems a lot more efficient with creating/destroying processes.

I like the tweaks that using this custom rom affords me.

A lot of those fixes listed above are actually incorporated into gummynex.

Starting to look into theming the stock UI.

Why bother when you can have an iPhone instead.

I've had three iPhones.

3G,3GS, and iPhone 4.

Liked them all. Craftsmanship of the I4 is superior to the GNex, but the GNex isn't that bad.

Wanted something different after my daughter busted my 4.

Love the GNex. The UI isn't as fluid as IOS, but the ability to tinker and the gorgeous large screen make up for its shortcomings.

ICS is a great build. The Android experience is pretty cool so far.
