I plan on asking my podiatrist this on monday but thought someone on here might know.
I have an injury to the lower joint (inside my foot) on the toe next to my big toe. My podiatrist said the only option besides toughing it out would be to have them go in and scrape away the newly formed cartilage and scar tissue, and then reshape the bone. This is the most conservative surgical option, others are a replacement joint and removing the joint completely (think Dez's finger).
What I forgot to ask was this: Is this a surgery that can be done with a local anesthetic/ laughing gas, or would I need to be put under?
Anyone have this done or know anything about foot joint cleanup surgery?
