Not sure which is more sad:

A) People (does not matter what sex or age they are) attending a game and oblivious to what is happening

or

B) People paid to add context to a game who are themselves transfixed with people oblivious to what is happening

Yep and they really didn't know why those girls were there but they sure didn't seem like baseball fans. And what's with those empty seats around them? That looks like the outfield stands in "Major League".

I wonder how many Cowboys fans have their hands on their smartphones at the games? But with what they paid for admission, they'd want to get their money's worth. Don't even know if those girls paid to get in.

Hell, I wouldn't be taking selfies but I am not going to just sit there and watch guys scratch and spit either.

This is not surprising. I work in a school district and 99% of the girls in the school either have their phones in their hand ready for the next text message, or in their face reading their text messages either on facebook or whatever. It's pretty sad to see them sitting at their lunch table and they're all on their phones instead of talking to each other. Most of the boys aren't as bad as the girls. What's worse is they are 16 and can drive and you see them texting at red lights.

Smart phones are nice but they've ruined how kids today socialize. They're affixed to that thing and it's sad.

Why buy a ticket (does not matter if it is a $5 high school football game or $500 pro football game ticket) if you do not want to experience the game? Why buy tickets for OTHER people--friends, spouses, kids, whoever--if THEY could not care less about the game?

It blows my mind seeing hordes of people milling around like ants. Not going to get anything to eat. Not headed to a restroom. Then you have loads of folks gossiping without end about work. Gossiping until they gag about who did what to whomever. Sure, YOU care about junk that has nothing to do with what is happening on the field, on the court, on the diamond, etc. I could not give a damn. I. Paid. To. Watch. The. Game. IN PERSON!

Did someone TRICK you and your gaggle into paying for something you do not care about? Oh. You WANT to be here. Fantastic. My bad.

Liar.

Doesn’t bother me if folks are glued to smartphones. Lots of times myself I’m just cruising around and chatting it up with the hot dog vendors over the right mustard to relish ratio,or pulling up game stats on my phone. I just like the atmosphere of being at the park. Like one time at a minor league game,I got kicked out of the first row for peaking over and checking out the dug out. And some anal Annie security moron uses the lamest thing ever...”You’re not allowed to do that..it could be cheating for the other team.” Ughhhh...yeah,that was my big conspiracy plan all along. I’m secretly giving signs to the opposing pitcher in class A ball,to make sure that high school kid gets called up for next weeks big final showdown against Bridgeport.

Uh.....a little creepy. Old men shouldn't be that involved with a gang of coeds. They paid for their ticket, let them be. No different than corporate owners downing scotch in the Club House and staggering to their seats in the 5th.

Exactly.....it seems awfully personal, as if the damn announcers bought their tickets.
Go into an anoucers booth sometime. Know what you’ll see? Laptops and smartphones, with people Tweeting and checking their texts. True...and they know it is too.

I'd love it if Joe Buck was caught on camera taking duck face selfies!
They’re no different than anyone else. Put them in the stands and it’s talking to the wife and kids, and looking at their cell phones like everyone else does. And we’re talking about college girls at a sporting event who aren’t fully invested in the minute details of things? Ohhh how shocking!! Basic social obvervastion skills should have dawned on him by now “that’s what a group of young girls do.” Let’s get real here...How many times have I seen people nodding off in the seats with a throw blanket over them, with the old head on the spouses shoulder routine? People come and go up and down the stairs, and carry on conversations in the seats, and look at the their phones ect. It’s perfectly normal and nothing wrong with it.
