Does this get us closer to the Eagles and the Niners ?

1. Nolan Smith
2. Torrance
3. The league knows something about Washington that I don't, so I'll go with Siaki Ika. Didn't really love anyone available here.
4. Abikanada

I will admit that I really like Dallas draft this year.
With that said, if I would have been drafting............
1. Nolan Smith LB Georgia
2. O'Cyrus Torrance OG Florida
3. Siaki Ika 1T Baylor
4. Abinakanda RB Pitt
5. Davis Allen TE Clemson
6a. Jalen Jones CB Texas A&M
6b. Deuce Vaughn RB KState
7. Hunter Luepke FB NDState

Why would I take those first three picks when I could get them a round or two lower?

Washington is slow and really just a blocking TE.

Fair enough. And I will happily come here and eat crow if I’m wrong.
Well that would be refreshing since folks here generally are as quiet as a mouse when proven wrong. In fact, if all the folks who hated last year’s draft were not allowed to post, this board would be dead silent.

More so than that disaster of a real draft that just took place…
It wasn't a disaster, and even the talking heads out there all agree it wasn't a disaster - it was a middle of the road type of draft with a couple head scratcher picks (TE is the one that most are critical about given the guard options still there at the time).

The mazi pick alone should make the team substantially better and the LB sounds like he could be a starter this year.

This is nothing like the 2009 draft

Maybe you mean Dallas' picks and not his?
His all went either immediately after we picked or just a few picks later.

I mean it when I say I hope I’m dead wrong because I’d much rather our boys win than me be right. I’ve been wrong about some picks when the FO was right but I’ve def been right about some picks they got horribly wrong. We all have. Tons of folks here wanted Asante Samuel jr over Joseph or Watt over Taco or a ham sandwich over DT Hill. The draft is a crapshoot and Kiper, despite calling himself a draft expert, is rarely right about anyone. Most teams don’t do much better. I think this draft was very challenging as my board got gobbled up in about every round before our pick but I still think I could’ve gotten a few immediate starters and one or two eventual starters, which is more than what I see happened.
I do get annoyed at people who reply to draft criticism by saying stuff like “well the FO pays for professionals to do this so I trust them” and whatnot because of exactly the aforementioned reasons about the draft being such a crapshoot.

Regardless of how I feel about the draft, I wait to see what these guys like like on the field. I personaly like what the team did in the draft. The guys on offense that I considered difference makers were gone before we had a shot at them in round 1.

None of the first four picks would have been around the next round.
KC was trying to trade with Dallas for Mazi.
If you trust McClay then it just fell where it did.
