Slide down to 15, pick up another 3rd (NE's comp pick) and still get Surtain at 15.

FWIW, I think the Pats would need to give up more than the 96th pick and some future 6th rounder to get up 5 slots to get a QB. If you go by the value chart, we'd be losing on that trade. Maybe they have to give up their 2nd rounder and we throw in a 4th round pick to balance it out.

15 - Surtain, CB, Bama
44 - Nixon, DT, Iowa
75 - Cox, LB, LSU
96 - Adebo, CB, Stanford
99 - Darby, WR, ASU

Adebo at 99 seems like decent value but Brown (OL) and Tufele (DT) were still on the board and I might take either over Adebo given we took Surtain and have Diggs.

eww move down that far for just a 3rd... I'll pass.

And it's a comp pick 3rd too, so not even a high 3rd rounder. If a trade discussion were to happen, it would have to start with that NE 2nd rounder or that 3rd round comp pick + a very high pick in 2022, either the NE first or their 2nd IMO.

They are overpaying to come up for a QB.

96 is too little. 46 is too much. It would have to be something like 15 + 46 for 10 + 99.

I agree, I'm not in favor of trading down for a third. New England would have to give up a second. Those top 10 picks should hold a lot of value, so it's going to take a little bit to pry it away. If we can do that and still get Surtain, I'm OK with that. Not sure I agree with most of the other picks, though. No reason to double-dip at corner if we spend a first on one. And a receiver in the first three rounds seems a little greedy when we have positions that need starters not a No. 4.
