After going over Spencer's highlights again, I get more excited about this season! Here is a link in case anyone hasn't seen them yet.

It seems like half of the highlights are against Notre Dame. Just shows you how much protection Quinn didn't get. However, Spencer seemed a nightmare to whomever was trying to block him, including Joe Thomas and Levi Brown. Both LTs, when asked who the hardest player was they ever tried to block, without hesitation said, "Anthony Spencer".

That praise, by this draft's top two OTs, tells me we got one heck of a pass rusher who, along with DWare, will finally give us the dominating pair of rushers we need to get to the Super Bowl. Now Spencer just has to learn how to rush from the strong side, and to drop back. I heard somewhere where he has been really working on dropping back, even before the draft.

I saw stats on draft day showing that the Cowboys gave up more passing yds. and points per game the last 4 games of last season than any other team. Obviously, two big reasons were the injuries to Greg Ellis & Anthony Henry. Hopefully, we solved both problems by signing Ken Hamlin in FA, & drafting Spencer.

I really wish we would have taken a CB like Marcus McCauley in the 3rd rd. instead of James Marten, but, time will tell. All I know is that our secondary & pass rush should still be improved by the addition of the aforementioned players, and the change in defensive philosophy by Wade Phillips.

I had a near hemmorhage over the picks as well. But I was wrong. And I believe the Brown and Ball picks will be as likely to make the roster and eventually contribute as any 3-4 CB pick.

Thanks again for the clips, they never get old. Training camp is going to be soooo fun this year, there are so many areas to watch, and my biggest is the D.Ware/ A.Spencer duo in the Phillips 34. And hopefully Carpenter starts and brings pressure on stunts and up the middle.

I just love that pick.

Wow! Just watching those highlights and seeing how Spencer explodes through tackles, wraps up and throws ball-carriers/QBs to the ground, makes me awe-struck. If I close my eyes and re-play those highlights in my head, and pretend it's 1992, I could swear I'm watching the new version of Charles Haley out there. Just WOW!

He has good speed but he only appears to have one move and that is going around the outside of the tackle. Hard to tell if he'll be manhandling tackles like that as a rookie in the NFL... I hope he has other moves... and I won't judge him until I see him in real game action against good tackles...

Right, I love the pick, .. but we have to see how he stacks up against NFL OT's before we "annoint him", or put his bust in Canton, ... as Parcells would say.

A team can never have enough pass rushers!!! Imagine in the nickel D if we line up D-Ware, Hatcher, Ellis and A Spencer on the field at the same time! That could be a potent pass rush right there. Plus add in Roy or Hamlin on blitzes!!

Manning, McNabb, Campbell, hope you guys are ready to do some scrambling!!
