Any chances that we're making phone calls, using our back channels to poke interest in any coaches? Does everything have to be reported when NFL teams are speaking with a coach?

Nothing has to be reported unless the coach is still under contract and then the interested team has to request permission. Is Jerral making calls? Probably not, as MM is much easier and quicker and already proven he is willing to bend the knee. All depends on McCarthy though, maybe he's looking to leave.

A coach under contract may indicate an interest. Teams may indicate an interest in a coach under contract. There simply may not be any formal contact sans permission for the coaches employer. Asking permission is showing an interest. Obviously it’s ok to indicate your intentions to talk to someone.
