Why does the name Tyron come to mind? Yes, he's been our rock, but an injury-plagued, inconsistent one.

Me other surprise exits would be

Maher. He is shellshocked and can fall into tha rut again. He is on the fence, teetering.

Cowboys will gracefully unload a so-so Fatman Boss YKDV (Below)

Gallup (below) has run his course, and Crooks can alleviate the shock, lads. Blimey! He might be trade bait before TC breaks up.

Dear lads, toss me your speculation about surprise BIG NAME exits, not the Gallimores or Balls.

Holla and brings me a dollah!

Where did this come from?

Gallup isn't going anywhere.
Was this thread just a hate Kelvin Joseph thread in disguise...

Maher is not on the roster...

Gallup: 6.7M cap hit to keep. 19M cap hit to cut...

Tyron is not inconsistent. When healthy he is a beast. Playing RT, he was up against Bosa most of the playoff game. Bosa was a non-factor. That's your DPOY there. Negated.

If he can give us 10 games, it would be huge. He makes a difference out there. Size, wingspan, and technique ... And he took a a restructured contract that pays based on playing time? That's a guy you want to keep around

Too much negativity. I don't want injuries to happen so why would I predict them? What would be the purpose and what do I know, I'm not a doctor or NFL trainer.

And how many times have fans predicted a certain player will be cut only to have him continue to improve to the point that he makes serious contributions?

Here is a past list of popular whipping boys:

Dalton Schultz
Dorance Armstrong
Tyler Biadacz
Cooper Rush

Why would a recent prediction of cuts be any more accurate than the previous ones?

Egads!
Biadacz? Who would replace him, plasticman?
We are thin at center, a most important position who touches the ball every play.

I'm going to attempt to give a rational response to this thread. Firstly, yes, it is possible that Kelvin Joseph is cut. I think it may come down to a numbers thing with the depth we have at CB. However, the one thing that may save him is his special teams play. The fumble he forced in the SFO game may have bought him more time.

As for the rest of the names, Brett Maher is not on the roster anymore, so perhaps a Google search might be in order before making threads. As someone stated, Gallup's contract makes him virtually uncuttable. You can find this information here: https://overthecap.com/player/michael-gallup/6966

As you can see here, his cap hit doesn't become movable until 2025. So, he's going to remain a Cowboy until at least then, barring a career ending injury.

Tyron is a staple here. Yes he gets injured, but, when on the field, he's still one of the best in the league and is likely a first ballot HOF player.

I think if you're looking for a possible surprise cut, it would be Gallimore. I know your OP said not him, but I'm not sure who else would qualify as I don't think anyone else (besides KJ, which isn't a sure thing as I explained earlier in this response) is in danger of being cut that was a major starter. Even this article has him as a potential cut. https://syndication.bleacherreport....m-every-nfl-roster-in-2023-offseason.amp.html

The only other major piece that I could see (assuming they completely bomb in camp) is Jabril Cox. We have a lot of numbers at LB and I could see a scenario where he's cut, but I highly doubt it.

I agree, but do you remember last preseason, how many on this forum wanted him gone?

Some were disappointed that the Cowboys drafted Tyler Smith instead of C Tyler Linderbaum.

Which is my point. Most of us only know the information that we are allowed access to by the media. If analysts believe a certain player is weak then that is what we typically believe.

However the Cowboys felt he would have a steep learning curve and they were right, he got better fast
