Any tips for someone going to their first training camp?

Moved earlier this year from Austin to Los Angeles. Have a cousin who lives in Oxnard, and plan on visiting her and attending my first training camp. Any tips to give for a first timer? I got that Cowboys United membership, and hope it is worth the $20. Anything else I should know, and are any of you attending this season? (Don't want to go into why I moved from Austin to Los Angeles, but it's a 2 year deal.)

Get there early so you can get a parking spot next to the training camp or you’ll be parking several blocks away and having to walk. They have warning signs on some of the streets prohibiting event parking. Personally I would avoid going to a scrimmage it’s like a zoo. Hard to get a good view with so many people crowded together. I haven’t been to camp since the pandemic so I don’t know how many fans are showing up now. Eat before showing up and bring your own refreshments unless you don’t mind spending a lot of money.

The times I’ve gone to training camp I usually go during the second week because it’s not as crowded. I don’t like big crowds and most of the fans seem to show up the first week of training camp. The crowds start to thin some as training camp goes on.

House sitting. My son is a captain in the Army, and is in Fort Bliss and Fort Hood after during the next 2 years. I'm splitting the cost of the place with him while he is away, and staying there.

Check the Cowboys website for the practice schedule. Some days they don’t practice so you want to make sure and check the schedule.

Enjoy yourself, first and foremost. it's not every day you get to see the players close up, so get a good look at all of them.

Position yourself to see everything on the field at practices.

Watch for players who do impressive things and commit it to memory.

Take notice of which coaches appear to work well with the players.

Get a list of daily schedules and observe it.

Make sure to bring a roster of the players and their numbers to identify them.

Compact binoculars come in handy, also.

I wish. I love the drive though. Fredericksburg, El Paso, Las Cruces, Texas Canyon rest stop, Tucson, Phoenix, Indio, and then into the Los Angeles wasteland...

Congrats to you and your son. Has your son spoke on any of these new fangled Army teaching policies that I have been reading about or no worries.
