Anybody else OK with not going out tonight?

Saturday night is the night when everyone is supposed to "go out and party". I honestly don't mind staying in and reading a good book or watching a movie on my laptop. My friends keep on saying that I'm weird and a loner for not going out as often as them but I have to say that I don't feel lonely or weird. I was beginning to think I had some sort of mental disorder but then I read this:

http://briankim.net/blog/2007/10/top-5-things-every-extrovert-should-know-about-introverts/

It's like a doctor finally diagnosed what was "wrong" with me and you know what?

There's NOTHING freaking wrong with me! It's such a relief because I was beginning to worry. That part about recharging is so me. Can't stand people talking about superficial crap for more than 10 minutes.

Anybody else here a fellow introvert?

Being that it is Cinco De Mayo...it's smart not to go out tonight.

I do a ton of reading and watch lots of different stuff on TV as well.
I go out maybe once every four months or so for just partying with friends, but otherwise I look at it as a waste of money and I did all that stuff when I was a kid.

I vacation a few times a year so that's enough partying for me usually.

I am rather introverted overall but used to work in a field that forced me to be extroverted. I think I have a better balance now. Back then besides sports, chasing ladies, and school... I kept to myself and would rather be alone most times.

Well, I was going to a house party to watch the Mayweather-Cotto fight, but the host cancelled. So, looks like I'm staying in to watch PPV at home.

I'm an introvert as well. I prefer to stay in most weekends and it aggravates my roommate a little. I'm still a student and he has a full time job as an auditor, working practically from 9am-9pm 6 days a week.

All year, I work at 430 AM on Saturdays and Sundays and obviously prefer to stay in most nights because of that. I use that as my main excuse to not going out but like I said before, I would prefer to stay in most weekends anyways.

I'm definitely an introvert, and I do prefer to stay in most of the time. There's very little that I can go out and do that actually interests me, and those things usually involve an activity where I'm actually doing something (like sports, bowling, etc.) and not just sitting around. With the right company, though, I will have a good time doing pretty much whatever, but there's also very few people I've found that is true with.

I just have no interest in sitting/standing around while everyone engages in stupid stories and small talk. It's quite boring IMO. But so is being at home not doing anything. I get bored very easily and that sucks.

Yep, I am an intro too. I would prefer to stay at home and read a good book or be with family or a few close friends than going out and acting like a yahoo.

I'm pretty introverted as well. Outside of my mid to late 20's I've never enjoyed going very out much.

I hear ya...

My time for being out on Saturday night was from about 17 until early 20's.

And even when I was 17 and 18 it wasn't so much going to bars and such as it was heading over to a friends house to play cards (Cassino) until about midnight and then watch WWWF wrestling on WOR out of New York city.

19, 20, 21... That was carousing time.

Soon after that I was married and Saturday night was a stay in night.

But that's OK too, I look forward to watching a cheesy movie on SyFy or pulling out one of the horror DVD's I have. Sorta my connection to my youth, when I would watch "Creature Features" or "Chiller Theater" on Saturday nights.

I am pretty boring as well. Dont really like going to bars etc, rather stay home and watch a movie with my girlfriend.

Cino De Yayo, pfffft. Don't believe in going out for New Years Eve either. That's ameture night.:p:

When we were younger we lived to go out. As most young do. But it is not the same world it once was. Between crime and stupid people with driver's licenses, and zero alcohol tolerance and over zealous cops, it's just not safe to go out anymore. Can't imagine what a night club looks like nowadays anyways...probably a bunch of young people, dressed to kill, all sitting and standing around texting their friends and posting pics of themselves on facebook, bragging about what a great time they're having posting pics of themselves in their killer outfits....

I went out to watch the fight for free, but I didn't drink. There were a lot of drunks on the road.

I generally don't go out Saturday nights, though, because I have flag football early on Sunday mornings.
