The crazy thing is my entire family of four brothers and sisters all are allergic to seafood but in different ways. Three of us can eat fish but no shellfish. Three others can eat shellfish but have to tolerate swollen lips or jaws for 24 hours. A couple can't eat any fresh seafood, only can ( tuna, salmon ). We all either break out in hives, vomit or as mention swell up.

I'm also allergic to chocolate .......lol

Allergic to chocolate?

A tough way to go through life... LOL!

Yeah sounds like a DNA thing on the seafood considering it runs throughout the family.

As much as I like my seafood, having to make do without chocolate would be harsh.

My all time favorite Hooters girl says I'm allergic to seafood, when the truth is, I just hate the stuff. Honestly, I don't understand how anyone can smell that, and say, "Mmmmmm, gimme some o' that!" I can't even eat my food if I can smell seafood of any kind..........and just to keep this clean: No, it doesn't smell like fish.........and yes, I love to.

Some seafood give me nausea. Though I do not have stronger reactions.

So I can eat fish, shrimp, clams, scallops, and even lobster tail, but the rest of the lobster and crab as I said will cause nausea. Squid, and octopus definitely cause nausea. Just the smell of it causes it. (that crap stinks)

Pretty much any seafood invertebrate with the exception of Bivalvia class of seafood, lobster tail, and shrimp tends to not sit well with me. I don't seem to have a problem with Bivalvia. (Bivalvia = Clams, Oysters, Mussels, and Scallops)
