I have two 750wt subs that have their own amp. Two JBL towers and a sound bar on the bottom.

Seems like a waste to use all that on compressed sound.

Really?...nah:laugh: When a sound also makes you feel its priceless.
Don't get me wrong, I just reconed my Cerwin Vegas, but I only use them with CDs or radio, where the sound is rich enough to make it worth the listen. I am, however, considering buying a Bluetooth converter, so I can use my stereo to listen to Sirius/XM.

My computer sound system is a pair of Bose over the ear headphones. I have no external speakers at all.

The Bose headphones have an amazing sound quality

I do, have had a 4K monitor for about 4 years and love it.

are you running a gpu and setup that can play games at 4k?

I have not seen what games look like at 4k. I was going to build a computer sometime soon, but gpu prices are still high, and I am wondering if it is worth it. I think they are going to go down by the end of the year, but even then a setup for 4k is high

Yes, just a 4/core/8thread Intel Haswell chip i7-4790K, runs at 4.0 ghz with a turbo speed of 4.4ghz. GPU is just a MSI Gaming 1070/8 GB VRAM. I have no problems running games at 4k but i really dont play any FPS games, usually only MMORPG/RPGs, and RTS games. Since i am playing at such a high resolution i can drop AA in game to help with performance, also don't care about DOF and Blur so i usually disable those. I have gamed at 1080 and 1440 and gaming at 4k for surely looks better. I am used to it and can never go back. Just checked GPU prices on Newegg and seems they are dropping in price just a little. The Nvidia 3060s for example are around 4/something which is just a tad over MSRP.

I have a 2.1 Logitech THX system. I've always been a fan of Logitech stuff. These things can get up there in volume and get plenty loud for my little mancave. I find them sufficient enough for a desktop.

As others have stated, I also have a great pair of wireless headphones that I use quite a bit at my desk. They're Plantronics, and I am telling you, they blew me away on how great they sound with music. They have a mic and can double for use on Teams meetings. I even have them Bluetooth to my phone and use them for phone calls, doing things around the house, to mow the lawn, etc. etc. I just love them. lol

I've noticed YouTube music is starting to get pretty good quality. I can listen to a song on Youtube, and then go over to YouTube music and listen to the same song, and it sounds so much better. With that said though, I get what you're saying. I went down the vinyl rabbit hole last year and have a decent little starter collection. I still need to find a good stereo for my turntable, but they do sound good on what I have currently have. I was listening to a song on vinyl like a month ago, one I have heard hundreds of times, and suddenly I was like, "Wow! I never realized there was a trumpet sound in the background!". lol It really stuck out to me on the vinyl (in a good way).

Vinyl is still the epitome of tone quality, but CDs are pretty close, and much more durable, with more options of playing them.
