The Dallas Cowboys open 2023 NFL training camp Monday at the River Ridge Residence Inn complex in Oxnard, California. Here’s a closer look at a few storylines:

Biggest question: What will the offense look like with coach Mike McCarthy now calling plays?

It might not be as different because McCarthy and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer left most of the language the same in the offense for Prescott, with only subtle changes in definitions on certain routes. Prescott called it the “Texas Coast” offense, a blend of McCarthy’s West Coast background and the scheme the Cowboys have used since 2007.

McCarthy said Prescott did a good job of “owning” the offense in the offseason program, going over the things he likes and doesn’t like. As the Cowboys get to Oxnard, they have a foundation in place, and they will use the competitive portions of practice to hammer out the finer details before the games begin.

Most impactful offseason addition: Stephon Gilmore, CB
Most compelling position battle: Who will be the left guard?
Player with the most to prove: Michael Gallup, WR
Training camp is a success if ... their key players stay healthy.

I’m really hopeful having speed in the backfield vs a plodding qb and a plodding rb, and speed on the outside is very evident this year. Before we invited ppl to stack the box, no outside threat in the run game and no one to take top off. Ideally Gallup and Cooks can albeit In different ways.

Super curious what our rookie TE will look like. Fingers crossed his athletic traits shine.

I disagree with the choice of Gallup as the most to prove.
My selections would be the two CBs beginnlng their third seasons --
Kelvin Joseph and Nahshon Wright.

I know that it's true but the "keep everyone healthy" rhetoric is annoying. It's the top priority for every team in the league.

Dak has the most to prove. It always comes down to the QB.
Yep...now is the time to define his greatness. Fired the OC, brought in some heavy weaponry. AT least 3 players SHOULD be "game changers"...right?

"But...Steve"....you say..."he ranks 9th in stats!" TOP TENNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Many things the greats do don;t always show up in stats. Mahommes's famous flips are simply forward passes, right?

No. No they aren't. Unless you just chase stats. Dont; be ashamed of your EYE TEST!

Maybe as individuals. But the battle for number 5 CB is way less important than having a quality WR3. Need Gallup to step up regardless. As long as we don’t have multiple injuries Wright and Joseph may hardly see the field regardless of if they’ve improved or not.

I want to hear offensive linemen saying all camp long to Parsons: You again!

Pretty sure one of the sites said Dak has the most pressure of any QB in the league.

This team coming in is the best team on paper we have had since the Super Bowl years. You only get so many chances and excuses.
