So, I used to follow arena football a little bit back when the Cowboys owned the Desperados...never really on a hard core level. Kinda tuned it out entirely when the league went temporarily belly up. (still trying to figure out how that happened with a major TV deal and several famous, rich owners).

Well, San Antonio got a hold of the former Tulsa Talons, and the San Antonio Talons will begin play this spring. I'm pretty excited, actually. I've been to a few arena games, and they are tons of fun, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Should be a fun time.

Anyway, since my city has a team now, I'm trying to follow things a bit more closely. Can anyone tell me what happened to the Dallas franchise? I know they had a second coming as the Dallas Vigilantes, but they aren't listed on the AFL website anymore, so I am guessing they folded?

Anyone have any info? Any other arena fans out there? I see that the Jacksonville Sharks won the title last year.

Yeah I was a big arena fan until they took the year off, and that Jerry didn't want to continue his franchise.

I'm not sure what happened to the Vigilantes. It appears they only told Arena that they would not be playing for the 2012 season. They are looking for a move to Nashville. But they didn't bother telling anyone, pretty classless move by the Vigilantes organization.

I hope they do come here. I loved it when the Kats were playing here. Great fun.

Well, I know the former Talons owners were telling Tulsa that they weren't going to move the team.....and here they sit in San Antonio. So, I'm not sure how loyal any of these franchises are to their hometowns. Maybe it's just that there are more crummy owners in leagues such as this as opposed to top flight sports. I dunno. That's a bummer about Dallas though....I was hoping for a good in-state rivalry game.
