Army Black Knights Are Bowl Eligible!

For the first time since we went 10-2 in 1996, the Army Black Knights are bowl game eligible! Looks like we'll be playing in the Armed Forces Bowl at SMU in Dallas this season.

This is great news, considering the team averaged 3 wins a season when I was there. Hopefully they can keep it going and BEAT NAVY this year!

Yeah, and I don't mean to knock your alma mater, but it's for that reason that Notre Dame shouldn't have been given the great polling considerations. The service academies aren't known for their football programs.

those that doubt navy maybe should talk to Ohio State. Or those that doubt Air Force can talk to a lot of so called more respected programs that they have beaten. army really is the only one that has been mostly down over the last 20 years.

The service academies are tied down by their weight restrictions and the fact that you have to commit to the military. You won't see NFL quality talent or 300lb linemen at these schools. What they do with who they have is always remarkable.


And who cares about the Army/Navy game this year? Air Force has already won the CIC Trophy!

I'm happy for them, I watched several of their games this season and was pulling for the boys of West Point.

Yes Navy has had the upper hand over the last few years. I have respect for both teams, these guys are playing the game for the love of the game not because they are looking for Pro contracts most will never play in the NFL instead they will serve this country.

yeah after all I have no understanding, I am incapable of seeing that guys who play football at the academies would never make it with big time programs but are playing just because they want to play,,,

If you want to talk about those guys at the academies as people fine, but don't sit there and tell me they play good football, the Army-Navy game is usually brutal football, unless you like wishbone offences where there are fewer passes than glial cells in Bumfrd's head

Last time I checked, I have not breached any rules in this thread, however your personal attack certainly does.

If you want to think the academies play good football, fine feel free. We all know that is not the case. Hell even CBS doesn't try to pass that Army-Navy game off as good football.
