Coach Art Briles was rewarded for Baylor's best season and highest ranking in 19 years with an extension to his deal and 1 million a year pay raise, effectively taking him off the market to any suitors.

At a base salary of 2.5 million a year, Briles only trails Bob Stoops (third highest paid coach in the nation at 4 million) and Mack Brown (highest paid coach in the nation at 5.2 million) within the conference.

New Kansas coach Charlie Weis reportedly matches Briles new deal as well.

That's a lot of money for Baylor, and Kansas is now paying two coaches in two different sports elite level money.

Never understood why schools pay upward of a million dollars sometimes for WBB coaches, it is just fiscally irresponsible. No coach in a non-revenue sport should make that kind of money IMO.
