Not which one you would draft, which player do you think the Cowboys draft round 1?

I'm going to guess Felix-Anudike Uzoma.

Why?

I think we will run more or less 3-4 type sets, and he fits the OLB role, and you can maybe move him around some on defense.

Off-the-wall pick, sure, but I'm going to say the Cowboys have him as the best player on their board.

Love it? Hate it?

Who do you think the pick will be?

The Cowboys insiders are claiming Mayer or Kincaid. And it does have some logic to it... letting Schultz walk because "he's too expensive", then spending a 1st to replace him would be a classic Cowboys FO move.

Knowing the Cowboys scouting tendencies though, my guess is that they are going to go for one of the freaky twitched-up CBs in this class. Will McClay loves elite athletes from big schools. Dan Quinn loves CBs with size. And there are like half a dozen dudes in this class who would make them both happy at 26.

I think they go for the best player, who I think they will have as FAU.

Just my hunch. It would be redundant. But we're looking at a player with potential here. He will come on strong in the NFL.

Watch.

This guy is just everywhere on the field. Much like a Ware/Parsons/LT hybrid. He's going to have a nice career.

I also don't know if Dallas is looking to add an RB after tagging Pollard and not immediately cutting Zeke. We do tend to like our guys. But if we are looking to draft RB, Bijan Robinson makes way too much sense.

  • Elite, elite athlete from a big school, so McClay will love him.
  • Bell-cow power runner, so Schottenheimer and McCarthy will love him (when did McCarthy become fixated on #EstablishingIt anyway?)
  • Flashy Longhorns player who will sell a billion jerseys in Texas, so Jerry will love him.

It's just one of those situations where all the decision makers are on the same page. If they are open to RB at all, they will be open to Bijan.

Campbell LB

By the time the draft comes around he will have risen that high.

If LVE or Wagner signs they will go in another direction.

There we go! All aboard the Campbell train!

We spent half the year rotating corners and we signed the corpse of Xavier Rhodes. If we don't sign a legitimate starter (legit corners get paid in FA) I think it's pretty clear who the pick will be.

The other guy, could be Devon Witherspoon.. But I see them going for a play maker, someone flashy on defense.

My guess, as of today, is the top-rated remaining TE, WR, or CB. - unless we sign a big name WR, which is very possible, and then WR likely drops off and might be replaced by OL

If he’s there… big IF… I think they’ll take Dalton Kincaid. His play was phenomenal. You usually don’t see a TE have a season (or career) like Kincaid.

His hands are some of the best that I’ve ever seen. He just doesn’t miss.

And while he does have very good athleticism and movement, he has been so good because of his instincts, his feel for coverage, and his football IQ. He wins all the time because of what he has going on between his ears. Ultimately, that is what makes a guy great or not.

I like other guys too for pick 26… but I would be 100% cool with Kincaid there. I think the team really does like him and wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s there and the team pulls the trigger.

You could sell me on that, too. Much like the Vander Eshe pick. He's a solid choice, as far a player to bring to the party.

Overshown is intriguing as well..

Unless someone like Jalen Carter free falls it will be offense skill position. Said it the second the season ended and I am going to say it till the pick is in.

This is the other player I first saw my old friend VACowboy posting about, and I think there's a considerable chance this might be it.

But I want to stress, don't count out Zack Kuntz. I mean, not as first round, but as a prospect if they don't go TE first round.

I like Jalen Carter, but you don't see him as a little boom or bust?

What makes him a good pick?"

The fact he's been arrested and all that? I mean, I guess, you know, he's our type of draftee then. lol

Juust kidding.. and good to see you around here.

Every player is boom or bust particularly at 26. Dominant 3 techs are hard to find. If he fell to 26 I couldn't make the pick fast enough.

Also, as Rambo likes to point out Gibbs, who could be a real option, I think.

I would assume that would be one of the best players on your board. But I have Felix right around where the Cowboys pick, for a certain kind of defense, and the fact that it looks like he can also play LDE. It just depends on what you want.

For this WR class, there are some intriguing options right there, Addision, maybe, Flowers, wide receivers are all short, no talent, everyone says. But lets see about that in hindsight. We'll see if one falls.

The cool thing about this draft is we are right in the sweet spot. There's always some nice players and that's what the Cowboys have been good at over the years.

If the pick is Gibbs or Flowers, what do you do?

You're right. If we're talking other teams. But I think the Cowboys are thinking different. You're saying what you want. lol I'm saying what do you think they'll do. That's almost why you just take a player like Gibbs and call it a day. You know he's going to get to touch the ball, so it's all good.

Pollard spelling Gibbs would be something like a winning formula. Especially if they get their receivers lined up, say Hopkins and Lamb. I reckon Gibbs would be a starter day 1, so it's a safe pick to get return on investment in the first year. And if you do keep Zeke, it gives you a way to do it without making yourself look stupid.

We always have good offensive line, and we always have good running backs, so at the end of the day, if he's there, more likely Gibbs for the reasons you mention.

It's just a really safe pick, in my opinion.

But maybe Jerral surprises us. I just hope they don't do it for the wrong reasons.

All signs point to TE, which I am not a fan of in the 1st round...............I hope this Kincaid guy is as good as everybody says he is.
