If drafted by us would anyone be concerned about the number of carries Jeanty has in college? I understand he's young but we ran Murray and Elliott so much and ran them down.

All I would ask is that he is very good on his rookie contract. If he is still playing at a high level at the end of his rookie then resign him.

Big concern of mine. Could he wear down? Already a lot of tread on those shoes.

I don't think it will be an issue because Cowboys aren't likely to draft him.

I haven't seen a ton of his tape, but he doesn't seem like a guy who is always trying to power through people like a Zeke so his carries are less concerning to me.

He’s on the high end of college carries (720 as of today) but nothing absurd like Jonathan Taylor’s 926 carries in 3 years at Wisconsin. Ricky Williams had 1,011.

Given who the owner / GM is and don’t discount the local player aspects of playing at a Frisco HS if Jeanty is anywhere near to where the Pokes are scheduled to draft expect a trade up to get him and who knows what draft capital will be surrendered .

I had been totally opposed to the pick originally but have thought about it and one thing with an effective running attack ( Jeanty & Dowdle return ) you control the clock ( defense is off the field ) and a high level rushing attack will help move this offense which helps the passing game and gets you in the end zone instead of a Brandon Aubrey kicking clinic.

I am not at all concerned about Jeanty rushing attempts in HS & College , you want him for the length of a rookie deal then judge how worn down he is if you want to keep him .

With Dowdle that helps Jeanty from having overload in the attempts dept . Fresh backs attacking that defense .

Not likely to work that way.

If a first round RB is performing well, they will probably hold out after year three, then you’re stuck paying big money too soon.

Otherwise, between the fifth year option and two potential tags, that’s effectively the entire career for that position and they will never get the bag. The agent won’t allow it to happen.

Has to be a final piece type like Gibbs for Detroit for it to be worth taking a RB in the first, but I know that Jerry would never pass on Jeanty since he thinks this team is “close.”

So, like pick 12 is fine by me when he is likely gone. I want one of those DTs. Don’t even care which one. Lord knows they aren’t signing a free agent, and this team is going nowhere until they invest in that position, although I’m sure Jerry thinks he already has with Mazi.

Short shelf life positions so wear and tear matter.

Hard, hard pass in the 1st.
The hardest of passes.

Jeanty is elite, but you can get a pretty damn good effective RB in rounds 2, 3, and 4. Why give up the chance at drafting a premium position high for a position you can get 90% of 2 rounds later? Never, ever draft a RB high.

I don't think so. I honestly think Jerry knows the Cowboys have bigger fish to fry than go RB in the 1st round.

Jerry might be thinking Emmitt moment . Jeanty was quoted as saying he should have won the Heisman . Doesn’t lack for confidence . A 7th win by Dallas puts them further from probably getting Jeanty without a trade up .

You can always count on Jerry to try and replicate the past.

I think Jeanty goes somewhere in the Top 12 unless he runs a 4.6-4.7.

Cowboys have unecessarily won their way too much from being able to draft Jeanty. Jeanty will go in the top 12 overall picks. Too high for where the Cowboys will be picking thanks to them continuing to want to win just to sooth their no-playoffs ego.

Jeanty will go ahead of us in the 1st round.
Hampton will go ahead of us in the 2nd round.(possibly late 1st}
Kaleb Johnson will go ahead of us in the 3rd round.

Once again we will be in RB no mans land.
We need to lose out badly.

since when are carries a topic of conversation or concern? He hasn't gotten any meaningful injuries and escapes most touches anyway.
