I need a little help researching the history of the Mavericks team logo. More than ten years ago a good friend gave me this brand new beautiful Starter brand Dallas Mavericks pull over ski jacket. because it never gets cold enough in Dallas to warrant wearing a ski jacket I have worn this maybe ten times in ten years. This ski jacket is in mint condition. It’s got The Dallas Mavericks embroidered in two different styles on the front and back .

The team logo that is on this jacket is the one with the green and white basket ball with the blue and white italicized capital M with the cowboy hat hanging on the M.

Can you tell me what era this logo is from?

It’s going up on E-Bay

This jacket is about 70% blue 30% green with white stripes on the green area’s.

I’m asking you guys this because I have never been a big basket ball fan and don’t know the history of this logo.

I need to approach my local E-bay seller with a little bit of understanding about what I have.

I’m thinking that if someone will pay $1.500 dollars for a piece of toast on e-bay surely I can net something decent for this jacket.

So help me out Mavs fans.

P.S.

Photos will be forth coming on the next few days.

I know the hat on the logo was a homage to the team's original owner, Don Carter. If I'm not mistaken it's been the Mavs logo from 80-2001 when Cuban then changed the logo and uniform.

I don't know. I like the history of the Mavs logo. But I like the new one as well.
