How in the world did the Cowboys underestimate the Rams?

Posted by DCFanatic at 10/21/2008 5:32 PM and is filed under Player Info,Cowboys News

Alarming is the word I would use to describe some of the comments by Jerry Jones today during his weekly appearance on The Ticket...

Jerry Jones on the Ticket

Saying you and the entire team underestimated the Rams is sickening considering the way this team had been playing heading into that game. This just makes it official. The Dallas Cowboys from top to bottom just think they can show up for the game and that they will automatically win because the blue star is on their helmet.

AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Wade Phillips should have been the one making the 'tongue lashing' speech to the team, not Jerry. But we all know this doofus we have coaching this team right now doesn't have the fire inside him to do so.

You can't just say the injuries aren't affecting the team because they are forcing backups to play, but this is the NFL and part of playing in this league is having good enough backups to still win games.

If Romo can't go then Brooks Bollinger has to start. This offense isn't going anywhere with Brad Johnson back there throwing ducks all over the field. At least Bollinger can escape some pressure and maybe make some plays outside of the pocket.

Jimmy Johnson was right and I am glad Jerry agreed.

What was so good about last season anyway? We won the division with a 13-3 record and then lost the first game in the playoffs. That isn't anything special. We made it as far as the Dolphins did last year if you think about it.

All I know right now is that if this team comes out on Sunday and stinks it up again the season is likely over at that point.

you can't underestimate anyone in this league! these players are stupid. i'm so mad at this team right now!

WAKE UP EVERYBODY! Regardless of how a team has played....when they get the team from Hard Knocks...they are going to do more than they have done all season to "Knock" them out!

I couldn't disagree more. They won a lot of games, and they won some of them big. They were a top-3 team in the regular season.

Yes, they lost in the playoffs. But if you can't enjoy the dominating performance they gave throughout the regular season-- if you can't differentiate between the 2007 Dolphins and 2007 Cowboys, then a lot of seasons just aren't going to be very fun for you.

If anything, the recent struggles make me appreciate ALL wins that much more... whether they come in the regular season or the postseason.

If they had won ONE playoff game then we could enjoy the 2007 season.

After winning the division and putting up 13 wins your expectations grow, no?

And trust me, more people will remember the Cowboys for having 13 wins and then not even being able to win a home playoff game against a team they had already beat twice during the season than people will remember the Dolphins for only winning one game. That's just reality bro.

And I never said the 2007 season wasn't fun for me, I said it wasn't all that great as far as success levels go.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

How can you underestimate a team with a pro bowl RB and a pro bowl/HoF WR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also have one of the best safeties in the NFL in OJ Atogwe and they have a pretty decent front four with La roi Hall Little and Long.

Loser mentality. He basically thought that the rams' game was huge because the Giants are looming in the horizon. Got the drift that we have no shot against the Giants. Isn't that nothing else but looking past the Rams and the Bucs?!?!?!? Unbeleivable. And this guy sets the tone? No wonder we stunk up the joint and probably will again the next 2 weeks.

It starts at the top sounds like Jerry and Wade thought it would be an easy this win as well. What a joke!

I guess all the talk about taking it "one week at a time" was just that meaningless talk.

You know. The problem is that half the fans were tricked into this last week as well. I remember seeing countless posts on here about not worrying about Brad Johnson playing because it was the Rams.

When did the Rams become a high school team?

They had just resurrected their season with a win over the Skins.

To underestimate them was nothing but stupid.
