Warren Sapp or Randy White?

By dcfanatic, November 13, 2009 4:42 pm

Warren Sapp grew up a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Did you know this?

I did. He's said it many times before so I know this isn't breaking news, but it's always fun to hear these great NFL players say it...

Sapp talks about playing DT and being a Cowboys fan

Randy White and Warren Sapp did play in different defenses, but White was a better player. He took over games more often than Sapp did.

Randy White dominated much more when he played than Sapp did. Sapp was a very good player, but White was the dominant defensive player of his time.

Uh... Sapp was good for his day, but Manster is an all-time GREAT.

There's no comparison.

I agree. looking at his time at Maryland he played DT,DE and LB. He really was not built like a DT but the man was fast coming off the ball and strong

Manster would also kick his behind........easily.

Sapp was the best DT from in the mid 90's until today...I loved him as a player, and for a guy built like a shoe box, he was one of the most athletic DT's of all time.

But there is another player that reminds me a lot of him today....his name........Jay Ratliff.

Sapp was a very good player but Randy was much better.

The only guy we've ever had better than Randy was Mr.Cowboy.

I laughed when I saw this thread title.

Sapp was a good player, but how many years was he truly dominant?

Randy White had at least 8 of his 12 or 13 seasons where people absolutely wanted no part of him. And the other seasons he was still pretty damn good. I have read quotes from offensive linemen that played against him who were terrified by the guy.

Never saw Randy White play. Just heard how much of a badass he is.

You certainly missed one of the Greats. Had a motor that NEVER stopped running at the highest speed. Just plain mean on the field.

Exactly what I was thinking reading this. And I agree with others; Sapp is not in the same league as White was.

Is that really a question? Or is that rhetorical?

If it's really a question, it's a dumb one.

No comparison between the two. Randy White was an all-time great. Sapp was a very good player.

White, absolutely. Loved watching that beast play. He could still whoop on Sapp right now, at least in a fight.
