Average starting field position

Does anybody have the stat on that. We seem to be really starting inside the 15 on an inordinate number of possessions. The whole first half of the Wash game we were inside the 15. It seems to me we have really had the worst of it all season. Anybody know where to find those stats?

I think the numbers I'm looking at haven't been updated for week 5 yet, but...

The league average starting LOS is the 27.86 yard line. Dallas sits at 27.05, which is 22nd. Basically middle of the pack.

Of course, turnovers affect this as well: teams with more takeaways would likely have better-than-average starting position. But that's just on average: intercept a ball in the end zone and you start at the 20, which actually hurts your starting LOS.

I was curious so I looked up some numbers. The starting yard-line stats aren't all that interesting, but this was:

The Cowboys have started 16 meaningful drives (excluding end-of-game kneel-down drives) beyond the 25 yard line. These range from their own 26 to the opponent's 20. They have scored touchdowns on zero of those drives.

Of seven offensive TDs this season, six have been 75-yard drives and the other was an 89-yard drive.

That is interesting
