I keep hearing it being said that Micah is taking on too much, and that he's also being worn out. How is a 2nd year player worn out already? Anyways, it's also said he takes on double teams a lot.

Wouldn't it help us when we see this, to quickly shift him to the other side to take advantage of the opposing teams chances to get a double on him???

Far too many times, he just rushes from one side, I say if you see it coming AVOID IT, and cause a mismatch making it easier on him to get to the QB, and not take so much of a beating.

Please give your thoughts.....

He's young, but he's also running 100mph, taking on guys much bigger than he is, you take a beating regardless of age or conditioning across the season. He can only rush from one position at a time, he still is only one person. They move him across the formation, left, right, center.

If you're talking about trying to move him pre-snap, while they're set, you can only move him so far or he gets caught out of position at the snap, or after he moves, the offense calls an audible, which now creates a hole in the defense where Parsons moved from. Parsons isn't freelancing, he has responsibilities and so do the rest of defense. The offense can call an audible, the defense can counter with an audible, but with very limited time, there is only so much that can be re-positioned before the snap. Trying to do move him around too much pre-snap changes everybody's responsibilities and everybody has to be on the same page, or we get holes or confusion and give up the big play.

Quinn does a pretty good job of trying to create mismatches, but the other team's OC gets paid too.

..good points. If Im DQ, have Parsons on the move.

Once he settles at spot, its easy to send someone over there and chip block. Other words, dont give away were your coming from.

I’m not certain but I feel like we saw him play on the outside next to Dlaw and we haven’t seen that much since.

It’s time for Quinn to start getting more creative again.

How does changing sides avoid double teams?

The 2nd blocker on an edge player is normally a TE or RB. Either can easily shift to the other side.

Uhh you move him away from where the TE is????? First and foremost, you also try him against the other OT, if the one is having success, let him rush from the other side. Have him rush up the middle a few times

Parsons isn't built to be an every down lineman. He is getting beat up unnecessarily. Not onkly is it wearing him out b efeore the end of eh regular season, it's going to shorten his career.

Start Sam Williams and move Parsons around. Don't make him a sitting duck and allow teams to double a pair of three hundred pounders.

You're obviously not seeing every play.

The plays I've seen you all hype him up and it's obvious that PRO coaches aren't just going to let him terrorize their QB all day, we have to combat what they're doing against him to make him more successful! If you're fine with he's being doubled that's on you, but WHAT are we doing to make him get to the qb

When a team double teams one player it means the doubling team is removing a player from the play. Either the double teams allows another player to get a one on one, or it takes a receiver/runner out of the play. Earlier in the year the Cowboys were taking advantage of this. Doubling Parsons allowed Armstrong or Lawrence to beat a single guy and make a play.

When I watch the Cowboys defense now, the seem less aggressive rushing the passer most of the time and more focused on the run. Lawrence still gives up the outside some but not as much as he used to.

moved around. Maybe not as much the past couple of games, but he isn't always lined up on the left side.

TEs can go in motion pre-snap*.

Parsons has rushed from all over this season (right, left, middle).

He has only stayed primarily on 1 side in two games this season.

He played primarily vs the LT in the Texans game.
- The Cowboys plan was that the Texans would not give help to top their elite LT Tunsil.
- The Texans did give Tunsil help on a few snaps but likely far less than if Parsons lined up against their RT.

You need to understand that 25 years ago Dan Quinn had more football knowledge than you have today.
- Today he has the additional 25 years of experience beyond that...
