Realistically, the Patriots' O doesn't belong on the same field as the Cowboys' D. Their D can compete with our O, unfortunately.

Baldy didn’t even talk about the run D which was excellent vs NE. The stout run D vs NE is a good sign going into the Whiner game.
One thing to note is that the Patriots run a very vanilla run scheme. Not a lot of motion, not a lot of misdirection, not a lot of pre-snap eye candy (re: jet sweep motions and fakes).

The 49ers are the exact opposite. They throw a ton of motion at you, and do everything that they can to cause hesitation in defenders by making your eyes have to process multiple things at the same time. This game will be a real test of their physicality and discipline as a defensive unit. The weakside ends (Williams, Armstrong and Parsons) will have to be extremely disciplined in this game to slow down the run game. If they don't maintain their gap responsibilities and don't set the edge on their side, it will be a big problem for this defense.

The defense can rush the passer and cover. And take the ball away.
The relative weakness of the defense is against the run. When it got exploited, we lost.

I expect that to get harder to do as Mazi comes up to speed. He'll get better, and Hankins will get better as Mazi takes more of the load off him.

If we get Parsons off the edge on run downs, that will improve the run defense and improve Parsons for the pass downs as well.

Parsons is great as a standup blitzer. I'd rather see him lined up at LB and then blitz or walk up to the oline. He has too much quickness for a C to deal with alone.

I hope Mazi can get there this year. Sunday was a little promising.

I would expect to see Mazi and Hankins on the field more together against the 49ers.

this next game will be played between the hashes inside out. VERY PHYSICAL. Both teams will emerge from it beat up and battered, I am sure. Whomever wins.

He typically makes a few videos so more could be coming or already uploaded.

Purdy is due a L. Regression to the mean. He is enjoying his cinderella story— but DQ knows Shanny, and I think we dial up some new looks on both sides of the ball, and set the tempo early and get the much need W
