No, not Farmers Branch.

The self-serving quotes by Greg Ellis

Among them: that he wants the kids to know it was never about greed
That his almost-decision not to retire was never about money
Referring himself in the third person
That Woodson talked him out of retirement (as if he really wanted to retire)
And thanks a lot, Woodson.

And that he won't be sulking this season but playing hard. Wow, I thought playing hard was already in your contract, you self-serving greedy over-the-hill has-been.

Ware and Wade didn't help matters
Ware said it was great Ellis would not retire and that his smarts, leadership and "wisdom" would help in the backfield.

Wade was also in cliche city

Now we shall see if Ellis goes to work or goes to work at sulking

I don't think Ellis will last long as far as holding his tongue
Hope I am wrong

As much as I hate his yearly cry fests, when the season stats he shuts up

You sound like a bigger whiner than Greg...Shut and post football info :)

Ellis is a whinning double talking punk!

However all is forgiven once he gets his first sack.....

I have always liked Greg as a player... but the bottom line is that he is an outright liar...

I get sick of this "hometown discount" he gave us. It was a great contract for HIM when he signed it.

He is scheduled to make 2.5 mil yet he has to think about feeding his family. The average continuous worker in his life will make a bit over a million. We pay our mortgage, clothe our children and put them through college.

If the man feels he is underpaid, then so be it. But PLEASE stop talking about feeding your family. It's a JOKE.

I'm having a hard time remembering right now, but some rookie a couple of years back said he couldn't believe how big Greg's house was and how much money he continually blew on meaningless stuff...

We are a better team with Ellis, but after his continual ******** I just would cut him loose. Yes, he works with the younger guys, but he also ******* to them. That can't be a good example...

Oh, and Woody? Mind your own frickin' business... ;)

Shout out to WoodysGirl... :D

Jeebus - pot calling the kettle black ?

Seriously - you should be the last person telling anyone to shut and stop whining.

Stay off the thread you don't like it.

While I too am sick of Greg's annual whine fest I have to say that there is no reason to believe that once the season starts and he is still on the team that he won't do like he has always done in the past. That is he will shut up about contracts and play football at a high level. It has become an annual thing for him to piss and moan about money and his role on the team, etc. But when the season rolls around and he gets on the field in real games that stuff fades into the background. His whinny ***** act gets old but his is just one of the idiosyncrasies that come with the various players. It is a thing that I tend to ignore.

I doubt a player crying about money issues is gonna retire and leave 2.5 mill sitting on the table.

Wasn't it Carp last year?

All in all, I tend to agree.

I do hope he realizes that his constant carping has gotten him nowhere and has only lost him fans

The point on which I disagree is that he can play at a high level.
I don't think he will after that injury.
I had the same injury years back and, psychologically, it's tough to put total faith in your tendon that it won't rip again from the perspective of a nonathlete. A pro athlete puts waaaay more stress on it than mere mortals like the rest of us.
Good luck to him, but I don't think he'll be back at 100 percent. Just a year older

So Gregg whines for two years and it suddenly becomes an annual whine fest.

This is actually his third year of whining IIRC.

But it seems like four.

But Ellis surely gets the chutzpah (hoowt-SPAH) award this year for whining about a new contract while coming off of a major injury, on the wrong side of 30 and with a brilliant youngster by the name of Spencer in camp.
