Beetlejuice is turning 30

I know writing and direction played a major part but Keaton?

That was some great work there.

perfect casting for a perfect role as it turned out.

Probably the best role I've ever seen Wynona Ryder in too, except maybe Heathers.

Sometimes the actor(s) really make the movie. You could look back on a ton of movies and think about how much different they would have been with a different actor. Could you imagine anybody but Keaton in that Beetlejuice role?

yeah. sad another possibly great career derailed by mental issues
Either of you catch her role in Netflix's Stranger Things? Good stuff. I do agree about her lost potential though.

Heathers is still a cult classic for me and loved Ryder's role in it. The movie's dark satire foreshadowed a number of socio-dynamic issues that would explode in the decades that followed. The movie showcased several topics. Here's one of my favorite scenes:

Keaton had tons of material that he deliver superbly in Beetlejuice but for some stupid reason I still laugh hardest hearing his scream.

Never saw it.

Stranger Things was awesome, though my first thought with her was that she was playing herself.

what a GREAT movie.
I remember seeing it in theaters originally....not really knowing what to expect.
Man was it funny...Michael Keaton has always been one of my favorites....Night Shift,Mr.Mom,Clean and Sober,Batman,Batman Returns....hell,I even liked Gung-Ho.
But Beetlejuice just may top'em all.
