Bengals prefer Julio Jones over AJ Green

Or they'll just take Julio Jones at 5, dropping Peterson to 6 at Cleveland, who could easily trade with us and get Green at 9.

Unless Tennessee decides they need a WR for some reason.

My spider sense tells me it's a smoke screen, though. The worst kept secret in draft stuff is Cincy's love for Green.

There isn't much of a need for the bengals to send a smoke screen..green isn't going top 3

I think the Bengals would be fine with either one, so why would they need a smoke screen?

I doubted at a lot of the earlier mocks and people thinking Peterson was a Top 3 selection, I always thought the earliest he could come into play was at #5, and if the Bengals really do want a WR, then that puts him at #6 which is exactly within range for us if we felt like "throwing away" our third rounder.

Well, if I'm the Bengals with the problems they are having with Carson Palmer. I'm talking WR every day up to this draft if I want to keep Palmer.

That's why the story is coming out.

Marvin Lewis is trying to get the team to trade Carson. I read that a couple weeks ago on SI.

Of the top 3 teams that need QB Carolina, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Buffalo IMO will skip on the QB and roll with what they have and make a play for Luck in 2012.

Gabbert to Cincinnati

Well another thing to look at is NE needs a stud WR and AJ Green or Julio Jones would fit that bill.

Julio Jones is more of a vertical threat than AJ Green where Green is the better route runner, has the better hands and is better in the end zone.

I think Jones would be more attractive to the Pats with the way they run their offense because that's exactly what they're missing. That vertical threat.

Could Cincy be jerking the Pats for their 2 first rounders? The 4th overall pick would be of that value.

Putting Julio Jones with Tom Brady will be a nightmare for the entire NFL.

after watching alot of video...I now feel Julio Jones is the best player in the draft. He is bigger, stronger, faster and tougher than Green. Green can still turnout to be a very good player also but he will need to add some weight. I know nobody wants to hear about this is or talk about this...but Dallas would be foolish to not explore taking Jones at #9 if he last. Dez demonstrated enough ability to get you a high draft pick...or you just keep Dez. But Julio Jones is type of guy Garrett could build around....he is very coachable..without any of that drama.

I try not to think about that...because it is scary. Jones is a dangerous player in this draft in that...if he goes to wrong team (depending on how you look it) he could shift the balance.

Trading Dez off makes no sense at all.

You will get crucified for that opinion but after watching Julio for 3 years your idea makes a lot more sense than most fans will recognize.

Julio is a warrior who can do it all on a football field. He is also a Michael Irvin type worker who will sacrifice anything for the team. Very mature player, unlike Dez. Dez has fabulous talent but what is going on between his ears is still the great unknown and the one thing that could prevent him from having the fabulous career we all want for him. There is none of that with Julio Jones. Nick Saban loves him like a son for all those reasons.

Also, he was very limited with the type of offense and the QB he played with for 3 years. He is an incredible talent who is going to make one organization very very happy.

New England still has to play defense, guys. Slow the meat wagon down.

I would rather trade miles instead of dez to be honest, and that would have to be a last resort type ordeal!!! Plus we have to many gap's to pick a receiver!!!

One thing is for sure is that you couldn't go wrong with either Jones, or Green.

I watched Jones alot in college and the guy is tough as nails the kind of player you would want to build your offense around but as far as Dallas is concerned, I really think that Julio Jones, and AJ Green are both on Dallas' draft board but as far as them drafting one of them is a longshot at best, imo Green will get drafted before Jones even though Jones had the better combine of the two.

If Julio Jones, is at #9 rest assured some teams will come calling for him if they want him but you're right that Jones would be a perfect fit in this offense but we already have that type of WR in Dez Bryant.

Yes he is a dangerous player and he will be a player for which ever team that drafts him.

........gotta LOVE all the 'draftniks' on ESPN and elsewhere that have Green ahead of Jones. No ****** WAY. Jones is a beast with Terrel Owens like talent: I really believe that. Green could be real good, but is a Ocho Cinco type player: fluid, nice routes and nice hands. But Jones could be SPECIAL. Any other year we should consider drafting him but we are just TOO needy on the interior lines and secondary to do it this year.

..........one more thing: Jones wasn't even featured in Bama's offense. Saban loves to pound the rock and Ingram and Co. were integral to that. My gosh IF he would've been featured he would've been in the Heisman running the last two years. SERIOUSLY underrated guy. I can see a few teams wanting to trade up with us to get him. Another thought: If we take Smith or Prince at 9 and Washington gets this kid at 10 I'll be pretty sick quite honestly.
