Bengals take close look at Nebraska’s Amukamara

[Doomsday101]

The Bengals only send defensive backs coach Kevin Coyle to pro days when they have serious thoughts about drafting a particular player.

So the fact that Coyle was present at Nebraska’s pro day held Thursday must mean only one thing: They have their eyes on CB Prince Amukamara.

The Bengals hold the No. 4 overall pick in the draft, and with all the recent talk of LSU CB Patrick Peterson potentially going No. 1, Cincinnati might be wise to take a hard look at Amukamara.

In my estimation, Amukamara (6 ½ feet, 205 pounds), who stood on his NFL Scouting Combine numbers but looked very smooth and fluid in his workout, is worth a top-10 selection. The good thing about him is that he can play press coverage and off coverage, which makes him ready for the NFL. He’s not afraid to tackle, either.

Please take him! Let the better players fall right to us

Cam Jordan apparently looked good at his pro day. When asked to drop in coverage, apparently he did great.

4th seems early for him. I guess the Benglals are expeting to lose Joseph.

Cam Jordan as a 3-4 DE/OLB hybrid would be pretty awesome, if he's athletic enough.

I mean I don't know that doing so at his pro day means anything, it's not live action, but he's definitely got the athleticism and his hands are super active.

I heard a credible source state that the Titans really like Amukamara. It might be smoke. However, the Titans were like Dallas (in regards to Peterson) when it came to Felix Jones, especially late in the 2008 draft.

The source (a radio source) called the Chris Johnson pick, thinking Felix Jones would be picked by Dallas.
