GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Mike McCarthy knows the ins and outs of Lambeau Field better than anybody having coached for parts of 13 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

Facing fourth-and-3 from the Green Bay 35-yard line on the first possession of overtime Sunday, McCarthy passed on trying a 53-yard field goal into the wind, with Dak Prescott instead throwing incomplete. Six plays later, the Dallas Cowboys lost, 31-28, to the Packers, falling to third place in the NFC East.

I have no problem with going for it there. But Dak throwing the ball when he looks lost, confused and seeing ghosts is not a confidence builder. Only needed three yards, a RPO or quick hitch or some play that gets the ball out of Dak's hand quickly may have helped. Davis and Pollard were getting good chunks too. Oh well, our worst fears came true in this game.

No problem with going for it, what I do have a problem with is you knew on 3rd and 4 that if you didn’t get the 1st you’d be going for it on 4th regardless. Why not run the damn ball? TP was running great all game, instead Moore calls 2 passing plays. Say what you want about Dak, but Moore has to go. He can’t adjust, he can’t make a game plan, can’t scheme WRs open. Enough is enough with boy wonder, he’s a damn dud and I’m sick of watching the offense struggle week in and week out with his idiotic game calling.

Dallas had to score a TD on that drive to win. The defense wasn't stopping GB. They showed that in the 4th and again on the game-winning drive.

Green Bay settled for an OT FG because it was all they needed at that point.

I agree with what you are saying but at some point our franchise 40 mil QB has to make a play in one of these big games. i want to be able to say at least a few times a season in big games that Dak freakin carried this team and willed them to a victory. it just doesnt happen.

KMoore leaves nothing to be desired. He has been in the OC training program too long. I'd take Jeff Saturday as the new OC right now.

A 1st down would also give them a chance to win, in fact a better chance. Kicking a 53 yd FG into the wind is just as big a risk if not more so than going for it on what, 4th and 3?- And if you miss that 53 yarder, you still have to stop GB from winning the game with just a FG. MM chose what appeared to be the lesser of 2 evils.

As soon as they went back to pass I knew it was over. Actually as soon as the players huddled I knew it was over. I've seen this team choke so many games against AR.

The decision was fine; the 3rd and 4th down calls were absolute garbage. You are gashing them with draws and you put it on Dak's arm...

Pollard and Davis were the medicine needed to extend that drive not Dak throwing into coverage even though the 3rd down pass was OBVIOUS PI . The ref swallowed the whistle .

A 52 yard FG in an outdoor freezer box is not “ taking the points “ . I’m sorry but that offense should be able to impose its will and extend that drive . 34 and 20 were running effectively , spring Davis with fresh legs for a chunk play on the ground .
