This has gotta be Amar'e Stoudemire.
He's averaging 25.3 ppg & 8.9 rpg. He has 5 STRAIGHT 30+ point games. And most importantly, his team is winning. After starting out 3-8, they've gone 10-1 in their last 11.
No free agent acquisition has impacted his team as much this season. The Knicks look like borderline contenders for the Eastern Conference. I won't go as far to say they'll win the East, but they'll be competitive with the top teams (Boston, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta). I still think they have no shot against a team like the Lakers, Mavs, or Spurs in a 7 game series, but if they can bring in Carmelo this offseason with Amar'e & Co., they'll be dangerous for years to come. But (so far) this year, Amar'e has been the most valuable player to his team.
STAT4MVP! Go NY Go NY Go!
(Yes, I know it's really early to talk about that. There's still 3/4 left of the season, but as a Knicks fan who has been acustomed to losing this decade, I need something right?)
