This newest situation has me all wired since I read about it this morning. There just seems to be that one Bill Parcells quote about some of this former great players that keeps coming to my mind.

'I know that he is going to be with me on Sundays'

Coach Parcells used this a few times when referring to Keyshawn over the last few seasons. Now I know that TO does not have a relationship even close to the one between Key and Bill. But I think Coach is going to try and get to a few Sundays with TO and give him every opportunity to help the Cowboys win football games.

I can't stand Terrell Owens. He is all about everything that is terrible in sports today. He constantly refers to 'his this and his that'. He usually has that **** eating grin on whenever a camera shows up. He thinks he is 'above the law' because of his athletic ability and it sure seems like he isn't afraid of authority no matter who is in charge.

So how the heck is this thing going to work for an entire season when there are already so many little glitches.

Sundays. Bill Parcells and Terrell Owens both live for Sundays. They are going to have to find a way to plod along Monday thru Saturday. Then on Sunday they are going to look each other square in the eye and head into battle under one very well known blue and white star.

It's not going to be pretty and it may even be like an ugly 'why are they still together' marriage for the entire season. The thing we must understand is that just like those marriages there are reasons why the people involved stay together. Whether it's for the kids or whether it's for the Vince Lombardi Trophy there is a method to their madness.

So in essence I think Terrell Owens and Bill Parcells will sleep in seperate rooms all week and then show up every Sunday for that beautiful family portrait that so many people send out as Christmas cards every December.

We have all seen these marriages last 30 or 40 years so I don't think it's impossible that we see this one last one NFL season.

That was a great post...and imo you are correct..nothing Bill has said (or reputed to have said by the mediots), is as important as that 'with me on Sunday" statement.

It's the ONE comment that has kept me from worrying over "the relationship".

Well, one thing is sure. Parcells controls Sundays. Owens doesn't get on the field unless Parcells says so, and if Owens is recalcitrant, Parcells can put him on the inactive list every Sunday until he comes around. Owens would not only be deprived of an opportunity to shine, but he could see his worth in the football world going down the drain without a way to remedy the situation except by a different attitude.

Really good point. The question is what affect all of this would have on the rest of the team? So far T.O. has not been disruptive to his teammates. Missing practices, meetings and not showing support on the sidelines does affect his contribution to the team, but he isn't truly hurting anyone but himself. If and when his actions affect the performance of the rest of the Cowboys, I will be worried.

I would rather have an Ok player who gives it all he got and better team player , then a super star who think of himself first then team second.

Good post and i agree. I also think this will be 1 and out for the TO era in Dallas. NO WAY should they pay another large bonus and salary for this guy next year UNLESS he does a complete 180(0% chance of that) or we win the Bowl. Even at that it would be hard to put up with him NOT going through the offseason program and all the other issues he brings. We just need to find a way to get through this year then IMHO look hard in another direction. His "i'm a changed man" speach is worth about as much as the breath he used to speak it. I was all for this and hate it when others get the "i told you so" on me, but as far as i'm concerned it wouldn't hurt my feelings if we are 5 months from the end of the TO era in Dallas. After the first week in Feb of course;)

There is going to be a fallout soon. I don't believe a great coach like Parcells is going to lay down for TO. Parcells appears to be watching carefully now and may be sending a message that the Cowboy's success is not hinged or going to be hinged around TO. I hope I'm wrong about TO and that we are just seeing sound bites that don't reflect his relationship with the team.

Maybe an upside is if TO doesn't play and if we still win. I think that deflates TO's ego and maybe humbles him so that when he gets healthy he doesn't get to play as much. Probably just wishful thinking on my part.

 I will never understand why "fans" of this team seem to be anxiously awaiting our teams demise.

I've been a fan for over 40 years. I'm sorry if you think I was looking for the Cowboys to self-destruct. I'm hoping that TO finally becomes a team player because the Cowboys succeed without him and in his mind he no longer is the center of attention.
