Reggie was hard to handle also. Didn't get along with Billy Martin or Thurman Munson.

Mr. October, always liked that name.

Great point......after what we have done since 1995, I will take it! :bang2:

The problem is: the Biggest difference between Steinbrenner and JJ is: The Boss knows he's not a Baseball man - the Boss knows to surround himself with Great Baseball people ala Stick Michael - Cashman -Torre etc....while JJ thinks he's a GM-HeadCoach-Scout-and JJEwing all rolled into one.

This aint a zoo. You can leave a zoo. This is hell. We are stuck here for three years.

bring it on... bronx zoo won a couple of world series :)

the boss is equally as clueless as jerruh in regards to beign a wannabe GM.

Actually Steinbrenner was suspended from baseball while Stick Michael built the team they had in 96.

It was after ole George came back that they have started their decline.

Decline? they won the Divison 8 years in a row - including last season - which BTW is the best in BB.

they made alot of dumb movies with George back (unfortunately).

alot of dumb trades depleting the farm club (due to George's demands). George also ran out coaches (Zim and Mel) and the previous GM. Also completely bone-headed moves such as...
- trading for kevin brown
- letting Andy Petite walk away feeling neglected
- seducing Sheffield instead of allowing Cashman to sign a done deal w/ Vlad.

Andy Pettitte was facing personal matters -which is why he left....
Brown was Cashman's call

JJ is a first ballot hall of famer. He has revolutionized the NFL. I think that qualifies him as a 'football' man. Sure he has made some major boneheaded mistakes but you can't argue that he didn't learn from them.
