According to Randy Galloway, the third-and-1 play that was called was a Marion Barber run. But Bledsoe saw an eight- or nine-man front and audibled into the quick pass to Glenn.

Nah, can't be, the old fossil ****** with boobs who knows less about football than any of us called that stupid pass to Glenn ;)

..if the pass gets to Glenn and he shakes the DB..he's gone for 6 pts with Denver all up at the line.

The way we were running the ball, the only success we had was when we ran 3 WR sets and spread their defense.

Barber wouldn't have stood a chance against an 8 man+ front the way the OL was blocking today.

I agree. Before the play, I said to myself, I would love it if they faked the pass to the WR, the CB would probably bite and then he would be beat for at least a first down etc.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way.

Then again, what I would call is irrelevant as I am not the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

I think Denver baited us into that throw and knew Drew would make the audible. The CB was instructed to look like he was playing soft but come charging hard virtually on the snap.

This was a case of going to the well once too often and not being smart with play selection.

A better play would have been a QB sneak out of the spread formation (very difficult to stop) or to use a quick double move - the second option is limited by the ability of our OL to block - but that is the crux of the matter isn't it in the end.

The run was just not there alot of the times today.

I dont think it was a really bad play as their corner had hurt his ankles after being shaken out of his pants by Keyshawn Johnson, and they had the rookie in there.

I am a little curious as to why they didnt just do the same play with the same guy. I will have to go look at the game again and see what went down.

We were too far away for a sneak.

I can't remember - you could be right - was it more like 1.5 yards? I think you should be able to make a yard on a sneak most of the time.

Cowlishaw had the note below about that play in his column for tomorrow's DMN:

Key play: Third-and-1 at the Denver 48, two-minute warning, score tied 21-21.

The Cowboys had a running play called, but the Broncos once again crowded the line of scrimmage. "It doesn't make any sense to run when they've got everybody up on the line," Bledsoe said.

So he changed to a quick pass to Terry Glenn, but Glenn couldn't make the catch, and he was about to be tackled for a loss had he caught it. If the Cowboys convert there, they are one first down from the range Cundiff showed four days ago.

I hate that play. Every time I see it, it reminds me of that Burger King commercial where Bledsoe gets picked off by the King.

How the F*** would drunkard Galloway know in the first place? Was he in the huddle when the play was called and then adjusted into this so called audible?

This mediot is laughable! Nice one Randy!

The announcers even stated that Bledsoe told them they have a keyword he gives that audibles to that quick pass.

You're absolutely right. With the success that Drew was having with the quick toss to Keyshawn all day, if he had elected to pump-fake it this time instead, the cb would've easily taken the bait, leaving Glenn wide open for a quick 6 (or 1st down at the very least).

And then we'd all be bragging about how many beers we've drank so far in honor of our magnificent victory today. :ralph:

Bledsoe said it.

Oh my gosh, ahahhahaha, damn you Bledsoe. I wanted to win so bad.

Not that it matters much right now, but a pump fake to Glenn to bait the DB would have been 6 on that play. #27 was getting embarrassed by Key a few times w/ the same exact play. A nice pump fake on that pattern would have broken his other ankle and Glenn would have coasted for 6. Hind sight is 20/20 tho. Boys should have won the game, but couldn't come up w/ the plays when needed, props to Denver. We shouldn't hang our heads to low, the Broncos are one of the best teams in the NFL and the Boys hung in there w/ them til the end.
