Rumors fly of a season-ending injury for Bob Sanders
Posted by Mike Florio on September 13, 2010 12:19 AM ET

There are unconfirmed (for now) rumors in league circles that Colts safety Bob Sanders' elbow injury may in fact be a season-ending biceps injury.

What we know for now is that no one is saying anything yet. The team is quiet and the player is quiet. Indeed, the player is so quiet that some folks with whom he ordinarily would be communicating have yet to hear from him.

Stay tuned on this one. Sanders played only two games last year, and for now there's a chance that he'll play in one less this year.

My goodness, I love the guy and the dude can seriously change the outcome of a game and hits like a mother but dang he gets hurt way to much.

I don't think he is that great even when healthy. A good player, but not a great player. Dallas fans would not like a safety who had career totals of 290 tackles, 13 passed defended, 6 interceptions, 3.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles after 6 seasons. I know they didn't like their own safety who had 500, tackles, 38 passes defended, 17 interceptions, 6.5 sacks and 9 forced fumbles after his first 6 seasons.

I think it's quite time for the Colts to cut their losses with this dude. He cannot stay healthy which is unfortunate.

Yea but Sanders hasn't even put in a full season yet? Last year he played two games so how can you compare players when he hasn't played in a full season yet. lol

Hes completely overrated and average at best. He should also give back his DPOTY award from a few years back.

You can't tell me that when he is on the field the defense is way different. Like when they won the superbowl for instance. Without him the outcome could have been a lot different.

Ware was more deserving that year as he was the year Harrison won it.....

Does not make him overrated. That was silly.

What a shame...Can yiou imagine how dominant he could be if he ever stayed healthy? All that talent but such an injury prone frame...

If you break it down to a per game played basis, Roy still has better stats than Bob. And in Roy's first 6 years in Dallas he only missed 1 game. I would rather have the guy that can stay on the field.

Bob Sanders is overrated even when healthy. Nothing will change my mind on that.

I would rather have a guy that can stay healthy to, but how can a guy ever get into a rythme when only playing a handfull of games and not a whole season. If Sanders could stay healthy for a whole season than he could be awesome. I also thought I heard on ESPN last night that he practice with the team yesterday so he might not be done for the season.

Hasn't he played in like 46 games and missed 49 as of Sunday? Yeah give me Roy as well since he can at least geton the field.

I do think he's overrated in the sense of people saying he's the best player on that defense instead of Freeney.

That aside, the Colts wouldnt have gotten anywhere near the Super Bowl without him. Did you see their Run Defense without him??
