Our special teams have been anything but “ special “ minus Maher ..

We’ve fumbled - muffed punts - we’ve picked up a real dirty lazy habit of taking penalties on the kickoff return .
This has led to deep starting field position.

We haven’t blocked a punt or FG - no fakes etc .

Fassel’s unit started hot and has now in some cases become liability.

An overall sloppiness has crept up and it’ll kill us if we don’t wake our ***** up.

They have one week to figure it out or they will have long off season to figure it out.

Turpin fielding punts is a disaster waiting to happen.

Have to look at the whole, overall picture instead of one lone bad game vs Wash.

Bones' unit has been one of the better special teams units in the NFL.

FG kicker. vastly improved..... Brian Anger ... Turpin to the pro bowl ...Pollard was coming into his own as KR, before Turrpin......the coverage on kicks/punts ..blocked punts, ..

Bones has been a difference maker in a team that has struggled with various special teams coaches.
and once we got Bones away from these fake punts, erotic plays and he got back to the fundamentals, we became a team strength in this area.

We had a very good beginning of the sason on special teams but they have faded in second half i agree. It will be important for Turpin to hang on to the ball this week as we dont need to give brady any extra chances. That said im not sure how much we have been penalized. maher has been money for the most part till last couple games and Turpin despite his recent struggles made pro bowl
