Lets all say thank you for the victory. I dont know how Peppers came through the middle like that, so I cant Cundiff for missing the kick anyway. But I want to talk about the booth challenge. They where looking to see if the ball was tipped in order to overturn the penalty. I have a problem with this. I know Carolina fans say it was tipped and it might have been. But would they have did a booth review if no flag was thrown for running into the kicker because the ref thought the ball was tipped. Lets say the ref didnt throw the flag for running into the kicker and a replay shows 100% that the ball wasn't tipped. Do they throw a flag then? Coaches should challenge pass interferance calls now, by saying the ball was tipped and lets go to the replay.

I sure was glad to get the game going because I thought Peppers barely tipped that ball......IMO we was luck!

For the NFL challenge system and replay system to work 100%, I think penalties and non penalties should be allowed to be looked at.

I thought it grazed Peppers as well, but the angle was not that great and i felt they would go with the call on the field.

Question. If Lucas touched the ball but Peppers lumbered into Cundiff, is it still running into the kicker?

I understand what you are saying. And I'm suprised that a couple of weeks ago, the Colts challenged a play when they thought that the other team had 12 men on the field on defense, which resulted in a penalty.

Good question....anyone know?

No. Just like on punts, if you get the ball all bets are off on roughing the kicker. I think.

If anyone blocks the kick, anyone else may run into the kicker without penalty.

The replay angle was terrible, but it was clear when looking at the rotation of the ball that it hit Peppers in the side. Thank God that replay only has a limited amount of time.

I think Peppers made a serious mistake by continuously tipping his fingers indicating that the ball was tipped. They probably spent a decent amount of time looking to see if Lucas tipped it with his hand and not enough time reviewing whether or not it hit Peppers. Had he indicated that the ball grazed his side, that would have been the emphasis of the officials and there probably was enough evidence to overturn it.

Back to my question. If no flags were thrown, would they have reviewed it to see if was tipped. And after the review if it was not tipped would they throw a flag?
