Well the first thing to note is that Cooper is a total idiot. Secondly, as pointed out in the video, he and the producers knew her position and what she was going to talk about. So Cooper feigns this outrage and dismisses her in national TV and her we are talking about him.

The mom is nuts but she didn't deserve to be treated like that by someone who invited her one and she was not disrespectful to Cooper himself.

Isn't that funny how all of that is lost? I agree totally and think Cooper is a complete unfriendly person and has proved once again he has no business doing a cable talk show. There was only 1 reason for the woman to be there in the first place and everyone knew it, yet Cooper is offended and has to go overboard in that reaction. Utter nonsense.

ANYTHING to get people to watch him and talk about him because his show and CNN are both in the sell out toilet bowl.

And here we are.....

Pretty obvious wouldn't you think?

You need Cooper to have her on for the purpose of trying to destroy her life with his overreaction on nation TV to make you affirm that very same opinion?

I don't. :)

I would expect to see a lot more of this going forward.
These people are no longer charged with simply reporting anything, they're posited as trust-worthy people with an obligation of being some kind of 'moral' voice and you know it's gone to not just a few heads.

From that clown yelling at an empty chair to God knows what comes next.

Not me. I just think she didn't deserve to be on TV and he ended it. I am glad he did.

That's sort of like giving someone something they don't deserve, then taking back and being congratulated for doing so. He shouldn't have invited her in the first place.

Yeah, I can see that, but there are many times where I wish someone would realize the invited guest is a horror and end it rather than give them a pulpit.

But he invited her to start with. If you are supposedly a serious journalist or interviewer, you have to know who you are having on. He did then used her to make some grand moral stand. Disingenuous on his part to say the least.

This may sound judgmental ... so be it. I give this garbage a zero on an "I care" scale of 1-10. The world we're all living in is so full of these kinds of shows and interviews: Controversy for ratings. Dial it back to the 50's (before my time), 60's, 70s ... maybe even 80s ... this mom is seen as a self-serving pariah, unworthy of getting any kind of platform to speak from.

But today is the day and age we're living in now, so let's get real. With Cooper Anderson's obvious approval, his people booked this notably controversial mom on his show, knowing full well what her position was going to be. To then try to publicly castigate her On Air only makes Cooper look like a *ick, IMO.

You want to use a guest as an audience/ratings draw, see it through. Acting like you're all butt hurt during a supposedly "honest" moment of indignation ... in my mind TV-fake indignation ... is just lame. Disingenuous goings on, if you ask me.

I don't know why anyone would want to watch that segment in the first place.

This tactic isn't anything new.

Dr. Phil invited one of the makes of the "Bumfight" series on his show for some reason. Why anyone would want to talk to scum like that I have no idea. Invited him on and the guy comes out dressed like and with a haircut like Dr. Phil and Dr. Phil immediately kicks him off the show without even starting to ask questions.

Happens on cable news networks too. Basically invite someone on to explain their stance and then shot over them until their time is up.

Cheap appeal to homers of those shows. I'm not sure how much control Cooper or Phil actually have in deciding the topics and who will visit their shows, I know I have seen some YouTube videos where Don Lemon (I think) basically laughed in disgust at having to report a specific story. I would imagine they are given a list of topics they can choose from.

Stupid either way. Prime example of why I don't watch TV.

I remember that. Dudes a bad person but when he came out looking like Dr. Phil I had a good laugh.

If AC doesn't "kick" her off the show would people still be upset?

Most likely we wouldn't have even heard about it. Anderson knows what garners attention and it's not show.

I don't have a problem with what he did. That woman deserves to be publically humiliated.

I'd perfer he insult her until she decides to leave on her own. :laugh2:
